hello berries! lately i really like the name lena pronounced lay-nuh. i also love the name eliza. how does lena sound with eliza? also, how would you spell lena knowing how i want it to be pronounced? (laina?) what longer names do you like/know of that have lena in them or that can be shortened to lena? some ideas i have are: adalena, milena, analena, madelaina, helena, alena/elena and how do those sound with eliza? thanks so much! : )
I think [name_f]Layna[/name_f] would be the clearest pronunciation but [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Laina[/name_f] would work perfectly well too. You might just have to correct [name_f]Lena[/name_f] from lee-nuh or leh-nuh sometimes.
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] make great sisters! I also like [name_f]Milena[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f], and [name_f]Madelaine[/name_f] a lot with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are cute too but I feel like they would create an obvious [name_f]El[/name_f]- theme which you may or may not want.
You have a great list of full names for [name_f]Lena[/name_f]. [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] is another one I would suggest.
You can add Selene/Selena but I actually prefer just [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Lena[/name_f] as a stand alone, it’s a simple but strong name.
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] is lovely! I knew a [name_f]Lena[/name_f] who pronounced her name like that, so that was my first guess. I would spell it Lena; there is the possibility of occasional mispronunciation, but I think this spelling is clear and lovely. I agree with @EagleEyes that [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] would make adorable sisters! Both are very spirited and lovely.
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f] are sweet together. I like the sp [name_f]Lena[/name_f] best, or maybe [name_f]Leyna[/name_f].
[name_f]Milena[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are a nice set. There’s [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] too
I think that [name_f]Lena[/name_f] is a perfect spelling for the “LAY-nuh” pronunciation! I do know a [name_f]Lena[/name_f] who pronounced hers as “LEE-nuh,” but as a current student of the Russian language, I’m becoming a lot more familiar with the “LAY-nuh” way. In Russian, [name_f]Lena[/name_f] is a super popular name, a family-and-close-friends nickname for people named [name_f]Yelena[/name_f]. I’m not sure [name_f]Yelena[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] exactly go together as sisters, but could be pretty sweet and spunky! ![]()
Though, I think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and just [name_f]Lena[/name_f] as sisters is lovely. Those work great to me! [name_f]Helena[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lena[/name_f] would be my second pick, but I think it’s nice that both [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f] are nickname-names as standalone names in this set. [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] choices. X
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] is pronounced Lay-nuh so I would just write it that way. It is nice with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Liza[/name_f].
