I really love the name [name]Toby[/name], just not sure it fits with our last name which is [name]Levy[/name] (2 long eee sounds).
We could name him [name]Tobias[/name] which sounds better with our ln and just call him [name]Toby[/name], but DH doesn’t see the point in [name]Tobias[/name] if we only ever call him [name]Toby[/name].
I’m also considering the same name spelled [name]Tobie[/name] for a girl ( just [name]Tobie[/name], not short for anything)
What about [name]Tobin[/name]? [name]Tobin[/name] [name]Levy[/name] is great! I agree that [name]Toby[/name] [name]Levy[/name] doesn’t really work. [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Tobin[/name] are both great alternatives though, and you could call him [name]Toby[/name] as a nickname. I don’t prefer [name]Tobie[/name] on a girl, but I generally don’t care for boy names on girls. If you are going to do it, using the [name]Tobie[/name] spelling does seem a bit more feminine.
