What do you think about the name [name_m]Troy[/name_m]? DH had a client list the other day full of interesting names and this is one that stuck out to me as being usable (as opposed to another client [name_m]Napoleon[/name_m], for example). I grew up in the hype of High School Musical and I worry that people would just associate it with [name_m]Troy[/name_m] [name_m]Bolton[/name_m]/Zac [name_m]Efron[/name_m]. Not that that would be a terrible association, just curious.
Troy isnāt for me. Iām just personally not a fan of the sound. I do heavily associate it with [name_m]Troy[/name_m] [name_m]Bolton[/name_m], as well as [name_f]Helen[/name_f] of [name_m]Troy[/name_m].
I love the name [name_m]Troy[/name_m]! Itās so sweet and strong. It reminds me of the film Troy, and I love that connection! I do also think of [name_m]Troy[/name_m] [name_m]Bolton[/name_m], but I donāt think thatās a bad association to have! Also I donāt know how strong that association will be for future generations!
When I hear [name_m]Troy[/name_m] I think of [name_m]Troy[/name_m] [name_m]Bolton[/name_m] and [name_m]Zac[/name_m] [name_m]Efron[/name_m]!
Troy two association the aforementioned HSM
and [name_m]Troy[/name_m] as in Greece as in Trojan horse and [name_f]Helen[/name_f] of [name_m]Troy[/name_m]
It also sounds really like toy
I have met two or three Troys in my time (UK) ā itās certainly usable.
Personally, I donāt particularly like the sound, but itās definitely an interesting option if you like strong, simple boy names with a long history.
Iām a fan of [name_m]Troy[/name_m]! In my opinion itās a strong historical and literary classic thatās underused, perhaps dated, idk, but I still like it a lot.
I like it! I think itās very usable. I do associate it with [name_m]Troy[/name_m] [name_m]Bolton[/name_m] and [name_f]Helen[/name_f] of [name_m]Troy[/name_m]/Trojan War, but also with [name_m]Troy[/name_m] [name_m]Barnes[/name_m], [name_m]Donald[/name_m] [name_m]Glover[/name_m]ās character on Community.
I always picture an overly tan gym rat for some reason⦠sorry! Not keen
I really like Troy, but I know nothing about HSM. I think it has a good chance of becoming more popular as more āboyā names move to the girlās side. (Not meaning that Troy will become unisex. I mean that people that donāt want unisex names will dig deeper for good, masculine names.)
Itās okay. Has kind of a 90ās vibe, but otherwise passable, if a bit abrupt.
I love the name [name_m]Troy[/name_m]! I wouldnāt have an association with high school musical. But I definitely think of the historical city of [name_m]Troy[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_m]Hector[/name_m] too!
Troy [name_m]Bolton[/name_m] was the first thing I thought of. I would say itās usable as long as the association doesnāt bother you too much. Iām not sure HSM will be a big thing with the next generations so you might be in the clear
I get āfrat boyā vibes from this name. I like [name_m]Troye[/name_m] better, though itās probably too heavily associated with the singer [name_m]Troye[/name_m] [name_f]Sivan[/name_f]
Iām not a big fan of [name_m]Troy[/name_m] myself but itās not a bad name. Itās my partnerās dadās name actually! He, like every [name_m]Troy[/name_m] Iāve met, is a very blue collar, outdoorsy, kinda country type guy.
Even though Iāve seen high school musical, I never think of it when I hear this name. And the reference isnāt so iconic these days to really generate heavy associations I donāt think.
I love it!! [name_f]My[/name_f] grandfathers name, so I associate it with being strong and kind.
It sounds very interesting. I only think of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] of [name_m]Troy[/name_m] but it sounds cool and unusual.
I like it. Itās well known but not overly popular. [name_u]Strong[/name_u]/masculine and no spelling or pronunciation issues!
Itās definitely a āno frillsā type name. But thatās the type of names I like! Not one that would āgo to the girlsā I donāt think.
I donāt associate it with HSM and donāt think the next generation would either!
Good luck
