this spelling just makes me think of the spanish word, so i prefer the spelling Oona! neither are my style but i like them for others (:

I like the look and style - seems rather sleek and smart - but in the end the sounds don’t really appeal to me. I’ve noticed there are different pronunciations, and this may be regional. Some say it like [name_f]Oona[/name_f], others, like me, say Yoona.

I love Una!! Super sweet but spunky, easy to pronounce and is no where near common but doesn’t sound unusual, ticks off all the great boxes!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! It sounds quirky and alluring to me. I prefer it spelled [name_f]Oona[/name_f] to clarify the pronunciation.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it. It was on my list for my daughter. I love the strong “oo” sound and the simplicity. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband however thinks it sounds pretentious.

I also prefer it Spelled [name_f]Oona[/name_f]. I’ve noticed over the last few years there are more and more characters in children’s programs named [name_f]Oona[/name_f] but we still haven’t come across one in real life. I think it’s very wearable and fits in well with other currently in style but not overly popular names.

I love it! It would be on my own list (most likely as [name_f]Oona[/name_f], but I do love the sleekness and simplicity of [name_f]Una[/name_f] too) if I didn’t already have a [name_f]Juno[/name_f].

I agree about the YOO-na pronunciation being a little less appealing, but OO-na is so bright, sweet and pure sounding. I think it’s beautiful and seriously underused.

It also pairs fantastically with more adventurous middles!

I went to school with an [name_f]Una[/name_f] who spelled her name [name_f]Oonagh[/name_f] and I loved her name at the time and still think it sounds wonderful.

I think I’d spell it [name_f]Oona[/name_f] too.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Una[/name_f] or [name_f]Oona[/name_f]! Both are just lovely! Not super common, but not so unusual that people are scratching their heads, easy to spell and pronounce sounds like so many other names while being very distinct. Ticks off all the boxes for me!

I think it’s great! Also love [name_f]Uma[/name_f]. I’m not big on the spelling of [name_f]Oona[/name_f], but I could see where that would be better since some people might pronounce it as yoo-nuh. <3

I love [name_f]Una[/name_f], but only when it’s pronounced like Yoona. Reminds me of the sweet little girl from the [name_u]Anne[/name_u] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables series. :purple_heart:
