Thoughts on the first name [name_m]Voss[/name_m] for a boy. This is baby’s great grandmothers maiden name.
[name_m]Voss[/name_m] is pretty cool. It sounds namey and easy to say
Much better as a surname.
It reminds me of [name_u]Vaughn[/name_u]. More usable as a MN in my opinion!
I actually quite like the sound and vibe, but my automatic and strong association is the water brand.
I like it, first thought is the girl from [name_u]Orange[/name_u] is the [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_m]Black[/name_m]. It being a family name I don’t see that connection being a deterrent at all.
I actually really like it! I’ve been seeing [name_m]Moss[/name_m] become popular lately, and it has a similar sound to that. Plus, like someone else pointed out, it sounds like a modern take on [name_u]Vaughn[/name_u]. It sounds like a name even if you’ve never heard it used as a name before. The only thing is the water association, but I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad association.
I really like it and think it works great as a first name
I think of the water brand almost immediately. It’s not bad. I’d think it was cool to come across a kid named [name_m]Voss[/name_m].
I like it, but Fos / Foss even better
I like it! I think it has a cool, striking sound and the family connection gives it significance and a sweet backstory.
I quite like it! Has a familiar sound thanks to the more established [name_m]Ross[/name_m], and isn’t too out-there. Sometimes incorporating family surnames as firsts can give odd results, but I think [name_m]Voss[/name_m] is a safe choice. No negative connotations come to mind.
Very sleek and cool sounding.
I like it! If you’re brave enough, I say go for it! Personally I would probably use it for a middle name but it works as a first too. It has a very nice sound to it and it’s a nice way to honor your family. And the more I think about it the more it grows on me.
I would use it as a middle, but call him by his middle. Something like…
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Voss[/name_m] Last Name. T. [name_m]Voss[/name_m] Last Name
Not a fan, but would like it in the middle spot! It’s certainly usable though, that’s just personal taste lol.
Interesting name, never thought of it as a first name before. It’s pretty common as a surname here. Maybe you should know that “vos” is the [name_m]Dutch[/name_m] word for fox (which makes sense, obviously).
[name_m]Voss[/name_m] sounds pretty cool as a first name, I think it’s usable. It’s spunky and unusual in a good way, and it has personal significance for you.
[name_u]Strong[/name_u] association to the water bottle, but I like it.
It’s not bad. It has a cool meaning, which is “fox”
