Thoughts on Valentina?

:confused::confused:

We’re expecting our first baby girl and came up with the name [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], fits in well with husband’s italian heritage but is it maybe too frilly?
we’ve also thought about
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]
[name_f]Merida[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]/[name_f]Clary[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Margarita[/name_f]
[name_f]Ziva[/name_f]
[name_f]Mina[/name_f]

please comment on [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and suggest other names?

Thank you!!

I like [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], it’s pretty but it is quite frilly! My favorites from your list are [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Mina[/name_f]

It is very frilly, but pretty.

I am not a huge fan of [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]. It is much to frilly for my taste. Maybe [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] instead? From your list, I like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (a bit biased!), [name_f]Clary[/name_f], and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f].

I love the name [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]. It isn’t in my usual tastes but I do like this name.

I feel it is really beautiful, really flowy - not frilly.
I also love the names [name_f]Valentia[/name_f], and even [name_f]Valen[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] is very pretty, but I love frilly names.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and am seriously considering it for a future daughter (but then I am a fan of frilly names).

Suggestion:
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]/[name_f]Genoveva[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_u]Carmen[/name_u]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] ([name_f]Giulia[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]/[name_f]Gisella[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and you have the heritage to back it up. So many nn choices. Plus more uncommon than your other choices.

I’m usually not a big fan of “frilly names” but I love [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] - it feels like a solid yet feminine name. And I agree that it gives you a lot of great mn possibilities !

I love [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]! It’s frilly in all the right ways

You have a great list, I really love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Merida[/name_f].

The only one I would definitely avoid is [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] - that’s a pizza!

I love [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] but not [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] . Its seems too much [name_f]IMO[/name_f] .

But I absolutely adore the others names in your list . Especially [name_f]Clary[/name_f] & [name_f]Eva[/name_f] .

Thank you for all the opinions!! and also for the suggestions! really liked [name_f]Marina[/name_f] and think [name_f]Valen[/name_f] could make an excellent nick name!!

I love [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], but in Spanish; not so much in English. It’s very strong and feminine.

If you like [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] I would suggest [name_f]Valeria[/name_f], another beautiful name. I like [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] a lot, but dislike the nn [name_f]Tina[/name_f] and agree with pp saying that it’s quite frilly. From your list I really like [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f].

I love, love, love the name [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]! I don’t think it’s frilly, but unique, strong, feminine and a name that will grow very well on a little girl. It’s a name I’m trying to convince my expecting daughter and son-in-law of…
