Thoughts on Veronica "Vera"? 🌟

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
What are your thoughts of [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], with the nickname [name_f]Vera[/name_f]?
I love the [name_u]Saintly[/name_u] and Biblical connection, as well as the meaning of [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] “she who brings victory” or “true image”, along with the meaning of [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as faith and truth.

Also, what vibes/imagery do you get from [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] “Vera”?

Would love to hear your responses!

Thank you :tulip:

Not sure why but [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] honestly gives me mid 2000 teen drama mean girl vibes. I prefer [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f].

Sorry I know that’s not great

With [name_f]Vera[/name_f], though, I get tea in the solarium in the late spring/early summer vibes.

I love [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is an amazing nickname for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] (I actually wrote a [name_m]Castle[/name_m] fanfic where [name_f]Kate[/name_f] had a sister named [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] who went by [name_f]Vera[/name_f]

I don’t love actual names as nicknames for other actual names, if that makes any sense.

I really like the idea of [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]. They are both lovely names, so why not use both?

[name_u]Love[/name_u] that! [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] “Vera and Kate” work so well together!

Also I love how it alludes to The [name_u]Blue[/name_u] [name_f]Butterfly[/name_f] episode (4x14) where Kate’s character was called [name_f]Vera[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]! I feel like it really freshens and modernizes the name!!

[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] “Vera” feels very polished, mature and sweet to me :ballet_shoes: :candy:

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] feels vampish - in a cool way. A bit cold, a bit sensual, red and black. I don’t like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] much, though.

[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] has a sort of sharp kick to it, slightly posh, but fun too. It does give me a ‘Y2K aesthetic’ or blocky 70s colours.

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] is sweet with vintage charm

I prefer [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as a full name. [name_f]Vera[/name_f] feels already very “full and sophisticated” by its one, while I prefer more “nicknamey” nicknames for nicknames. (Vera also has a great meaning which is “true”. It is a word name in my language.)

I remember that you liked names without nicknames. I wouldn’t nickname a [name_f]Vera[/name_f].

While for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], again, I would use [name_u]Vero[/name_u]. (And [name_f]Vika[/name_f] if she was my friend and she would have liked to be nicknamed “Vika”.)

For [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] I would use [name_u]Vero[/name_u] intuitively, but if I named a girl [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] (it is in my list too), I would use [name_f]Vika[/name_f], or [name_u]Roni[/name_u] / Vroni.

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] to me feels like very ballet-ish. Balletcore. A Russian ballet dancer.

Otherwise it gives me the vibes of a young girl who does not talk much, likes to draw and read and write, and often goes to a secret Garden. Reminds me of a mix of Miss [name_f]Charity[/name_f] and of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u], basically. And likes botanics and studying insects and animals.

I have a baby girl named [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and I love her name! (Funny enough, a neighbor named her daughter [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] the same summer [name_f]Vera[/name_f] was born.)

I prefer [name_f]Vera[/name_f] by itself - it’s such a simple, beautiful name. And no one ever thinks it’s a nickname when I introduce her. [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is a little fussier to me.

I really like it! [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] has sort of fun, sassy, rock and roll vibes to me and usuing [name_f]Vera[/name_f] for the nickname adds some elegance and sems really well balanced to me.

I love [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] a lot, and I especially love [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as a nn for it!!

I have a story about a girl named [name_f]Natalya[/name_f], and she has a cousin named [name_f]Veronika[/name_f] whom she calls [name_f]Vera[/name_f] or [name_f]Nika[/name_f].

I really really like [name_f]Vera[/name_f]! I think she makes [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] feel so much more lively.

Agreed!

I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], but [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] nn [name_f]Vera[/name_f] works super well!! [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is such a fun name

I prefer [name_f]Vera[/name_f] on its own!

However, although [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] may be considered a bit dated, I still think it would be a standout option to use today.

I love it!
