this is a family name on my boyfriend’s side that i’ve been liking lately, but i’d love to hear some extra thoughts on him ~ the good, the bad, whatever comes to mind!

bonus points if you can think of any middle names that would fit my style :sparkles:

thanks in advance, everyone!

I like [name_m]Victor[/name_m]! It used to feel very harsh to me, but I’ve warmed up to it a little. It has a quirky, fun & sometimes nerdy vibe to me (I associate it with a brown-haired boy with large glasses, lol)

Victor is cute! I do agree with the previous poster that it feels a little nerdy, but not at all in a bad way and it has a lot of cool associations! Plus the modern nickname Vic shakes off that dorky image.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE [name_m]Victor[/name_m]! It’s such a great name, well-known but never too popular. I do prefer it spelled [name_m]Viktor[/name_m] but it’s an amazing name either way! A friend of a friend recently became an aunt to a little [name_m]Viktor[/name_m] so I’m super ecstatic now that I’m hearing it more often in conversation, and it totally works on a baby too!

Some ideas for middles:

[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_u]Albie[/name_u] / [name_m]Alby[/name_m]

[name_f]My[/name_f] Grampie was a [name_m]Victor[/name_m], and we used his name as the middle for one of our boys. I started wishing we had saved it for another boy, though; it’s such a cool name! I like that it exists in many different countries, and it’s recognizable but still a little quirky. [name_u]Vic[/name_u] and [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] are great nicknames, and the V sound is nice and zippy.

I think [name_m]Victor[/name_m] is a fantastic name and I’m surprised its not more popular than it is given the V and the meaning.

Reminds me of [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. Sound is a bit harsh. I like it ok, much more than [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband is a [name_m]Victor[/name_m]! I won’t use it as a first name for that reason, but I’d use it as a middle name. I don’t know of any kids named [name_m]Victor[/name_m], only young adults and older. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband was only called [name_u]Vic[/name_u] at work, socially he has a few nicknames that have nothing to do with his name. I also considered [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] as a middle name for our last daughter, though his family calls our middle daughter [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] because she looked so much like my husband when she was a baby.

I absolutely agree with your thoughts. I’m beginning to love the nerdy feel in this name, and it makes it a great hipster vintage choice, imo! Sort of like the new [name_u]Oliver[/name_u], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], or [name_u]Percy[/name_u]!

I love your suggestions of:

[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Bramble[/name_m]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_u]Forest[/name_u]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_u]Oak[/name_u]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Bram[/name_m]

Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_u]Vic[/name_u] is so handsome

Oh, a baby [name_m]Viktor[/name_m]! That makes me so happy

and I love your suggestions of

[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Amias[/name_m]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m]

Thank you ~

It feels quite reserved to me and a little cold. I do however like Vickers. Which feels bit more upbeat and light hearted.

I’m a little late to reply, but here are my thoughts on [name_m]Victor[/name_m]! The name itself feels a little stiff and weighty, but my associations are overwhelmingly positive! While the name itself isn’t my taste, it brings to mind many wonderful men and boys I have known with the name. It feels solid, familiar, and timeless!
