Thoughts on Vren!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries!

[name_f][/name_f]

DH and I have locked in our name choices for our first baby due in [name_f]September[/name_f]! I’m finding out the gender tomorrow, and thus bestowing the official name [name_f][/name_f] Being a longtime namenerd, my opinions are pretty well set, but I also wanted to do the namenerd thing and ask for opinions now that there is a real baby to name!

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]Summary[name_f][/name_f]

Vren was a name I came across when working in church ministry in the UK. The person who had the name was Filipino, and so the name crossed my mind again when I married a Filipino man! We’d like to honor his heritage, and there are so few Filipino names I like, that this one stuck out. I like that it’s very unique (I can’t even find it on Nameberry!), but yet it’s easy to spell and say once you’ve heard it only one time. I know it may get mistaken for the much more popular [name_f]Wren[/name_f], but hey, nothing is perfect!

[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is a family name for DH [name_f][/name_f]- and actually, the person named [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] had to change their name for identity fraud reasons, so it’s an opportunity to honor that person and give the name a second chance. It has the added bonus of being the parish and school I grew up in as a kid! Plus I’ve always loved [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], but I’m not a fan of [name_m]Chris[/name_m], which I know is an inevitability if I ever used it in the first spot.

Vren [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is a gorgeous combo! I love how he honors your husband’s heritage & is just such a balanced pairing.
