I really like [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] as a mn, we’re considering it for either gender actually. As a fn though I do find it a bit hard to imagine as an adult. I like to keep “word” names as mn’s.
Considering some of the names that have become popular (such as [name_m]Ryder[/name_m], [name_m]Colt[/name_m]) it’s definitely right in with what else is out there! It personally just makes me think of [name_f]Laura[/name_f] Ingalls [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] haha, but that is more than likely just me. ;p
[name_m]Stavros[/name_m] is really interesting though! Does it have some familial closeness or is it just something you like? Your two names really interest me because they’re on the opposite spectrum haha, considering [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is modern-style quirky name and [name_m]Stavros[/name_m] seems meaningful and steady haha. I guess I’m not sure what you’ll choose, or how to tell you which one to pick, but I think either could work for your baby!
I really like [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. It is unusual, but def fits in with current trends without being overly popular. You could easily calm it down with a more common mn and the nn [name_m]Will[/name_m] may work with it. [name_m]Stavros[/name_m] is pretty out there if you are American, I think more so than [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] (unless last name/nationality is Greek).
I absolutely love [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] as a middle name. I don’t love it as a first name. It makes such a strong literal statement or nature implication it’s almost better in the middle in my opinion. However, I recently met a little wilder and it totally fit him and was so adorable!!
I once met a man whose original name had been [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], but he had changed it as an adult to a much more classic, traditional name which he found easier to carry.
I know this is just one person’s story, and that unusual names for children are more widespread and accepted now than they were in the previous generation; I just thought I’d mention this one experience I’ve had with this name in real life, for what it’s worth…
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is a super cute name. I really like it. I think it’s a sort of a cute as a button name that he can grow into. You can always have a nickname for him until he ages. I dig it
