Thoughts on Wren?

Hey berries!
What does everyone think of the name [name]Wren[/name]? I really like it, it is by far one of my favorite nature names, and one of the only ones I like that isn’t a flower. Is it usable? And any suggestions on combos?etc.

I’m a Ren (short for Karen) which is exactly the same sound. I like that it’s a nickname and that I can choose to go by Karen if I want to  It could also be short for Lauren, Florence, Maren, Renee, Renata etc

Anyway, it’s definitely usable even though I’ve never been a fan of the bird version of my name. I’ve been complimented on it more than once and my friends call me Renny sometimes.

My middle name is Rose. So altogether I’m a Ren Rose.

I love [name]Wren[/name]! It is simple and sweet but also strong. It has nice imagery for me and I like that it is a nature/word name but not one that is used in regular speech on a daily basis.

My favorite [name]Wren[/name] combo is [name]Wren[/name] [name]Eliora[/name].

I love [name]Wren[/name]! I think it’s a sweet name

I really like [name]Wren[/name]. I’m a big fan of less obvious choices of nature names. I think they’re pretty and feminine without sounding too frilly or girly.

As for combos, I think a Welsh middle would sound lovely with [name]Wren[/name]

I love [name]Wren[/name]! It’s actually on my long list - it’s my favorite nature name for girls and my favorite W name for girls as well. I think it’s lovely. There’s also the fact that the French word for ‘queen’ is pronounced the exact same way. I thought it was a nice connection.
I say it’s a lovely name! I don’t know why, but [name]Wren[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is coming to mind.

I have always loved [name]Wren[/name]. I have actually used it for a character before, [name]Wren[/name] [name]Whitley[/name] ([name]Whitley[/name] is her last name). I liked the way it looked paired with the “W” of [name]Whitley[/name], but still had a completely different sound. In my story, [name]Wren[/name] is the youngest of three siblings. [name]Eden[/name], [name]Colby[/name], and [name]Wren[/name].

It always makes me think of ‘ren’ meaning stye or mark rather than the bird, I’m not sure why.

I really like it. Simple, sweet, pretty and to the point. I also love [name]Marigold[/name] from your list.

I really like the name [name]Wren[/name]. It sounds very feminine without being too foo-foo. I think if I were going to use it, I’d go with it as a middle name - mostly because I would have a hard time convincing my husband that it would be awesome as a first name.

I have never cared for [name]Wren[/name] as a given name (it’s nice as a nickname). Somehow it just seems like trying too hard - trying to make a little girl be quirky or different. It is one of those names where it could be cool on the right person, but you don’t know what kind of person your daughter will be. To be fair though, I am not a big fan of nature names, they are just not my style.

I [name]LOVE[/name] it. I just hope it doesn’t get popular. I use it now for usernames and nicknames [see below]

Thanks for the feedback, berries!

I also love [name]Wren[/name]! DH put his foot down because he thought it was too close to “[name]Ren[/name] & Stimpy” but if you have the chance use it!! I will still get my way by using [name]Kathryn[/name] as a full name, but I will call her Ryn

I don’t like it sorry. I prefer it as a nickname

My name is even spelt [name]Ren[/name] and I rarely get anyone saying ‘oh, like [name]Ren[/name] and Stimpy’. It was so long ago now, I don’t think many people remember.

I love the way it looks and do not like the way is sounds…

I like marie for the middle. (this name has crept up on me over the years, my Grandmothers middle and I hear echoes in my mind of her saying that no one name a child after her…

[name]Wren[/name] [name]Marie[/name]

My husband vetoed [name]Wren[/name] (and [name]Ren[/name] as a nickname for [name]Lawrence[/name]) for the same reason. He said all he could think of was “[name]Ren[/name] and Stimpy”.

It makes me think of the baby in the [name]Baby[/name] Blues comic.
