Thoughts please...?

Hello

Firstly thank you for all the lovely words of encouragement on my previous post it was so kind & the advise was great.

I am currently crushing on [name_u]Elias[/name_u] & [name_u]River[/name_u] for boys. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] pronouncing ee-LIE-us I like because it’s the Greek version of [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] therefore goes back to the bible but just feels soft and handsome. It would be [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] Ramage ~ Ramage pronounced like damage with an R. Does [name_u]Elias[/name_u] Ramage sound okay?

I also love [name_u]River[/name_u]. It’s a daring name for me and I think would get some raised eyebrows but I just think it’s so handsome. I love [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] Ramage. What do you think of [name_u]River[/name_u] Ramage?

Other names I like are after receiving suggestions and changing my list around…
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] ~ still love it concerned about potentially being confused for a girl should that be a worry??
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]
Jonah
Leo (middle name wouldn’t be Leonard)

Thank you!

I think [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] are my favourites from your list! Good luck in choosing!

I like the sound of [name_u]Elias[/name_u] Ramage. I don’t think [name_u]River[/name_u] Ramage works, the R sounds run into each other. What about [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]? [name_u]Reid[/name_u]? [name_u]Robin[/name_u]? [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]? [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]?
Out of your list, my favorite is definitely [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. I also like [name_u]Jonah[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] is the second most common name for boys in the US, so I doubt anyone would think it was a girls’ name.

Elias is one of my favorites! From your list, I also love [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] and quite like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] (I don’t think it will be confused with a girl name, but has shot up the charts in the last couple years if that bothers you), [name_u]River[/name_u] (although it’s feminine to me) and [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]. I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m], but it doesn’t seem right for this baby.

I love both names!

Elias Ramage sounds lovely, but I have to agree with previous posters that [name_u]River[/name_u] Ramage has a lot of R sounds running into each other.

All of the other names on your list are great, but [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u] are the standouts (I do love [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] though).

No need to worry about [name_u]Noah[/name_u] being confused for a girl, while it’s definitely now becoming something that is occasionally given to girls it’s still firmly a masculine name (eg [name_u]James[/name_u] is being given to some girls now but if I just saw the name [name_u]James[/name_u] on a class-list or something I would immediately assume it was a boy’s name).

[name_u]Elias[/name_u] seems like a perfect option for you! It does work well with your surname, and I like the way it sounds with your chosen middle names, too.

[name_u]River[/name_u] is definitely a great name, too! But…I must admit, it does sound a little r-heavy with your surname.

As for your other possibilities, I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]. [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] are pretty classic – can’t go wrong with either of those, imo. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is one I’ve never been a fan of, and it’s really common here, which also dims its appeal for me personally, but that’s not to say it’s a bad choice by any means! [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] I’m pretty neutral on. And, finally, while [name_u]Noa[/name_u]/Noah has seen some use for girls, it is definitely used more for boys, so I don’t think you’d need to worry about it being mistaken for a girl’s name. Most people are familiar with it as a masculine name only.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this could help!

I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. It works perfectly with your last name. I must admit, [name_u]River[/name_u] is a bit too out there for a first name imo, it would work nicely as a middle name.
For [name_u]Noah[/name_u], it depends on where you are. In the US, I think being used for more girls than boys right now, but when one thinks of the name “[name_u]Noah[/name_u],” they think of a boy first (at least I do), since [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is super super popular boys name; I think of a girl first for “[name_u]Noa[/name_u].” In the UK, I think more boys are named [name_u]Noah[/name_u] than girls, so you’d be good there. Although, [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is very very popular, so look out for that!
Names on your list I like are [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]— I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u]!

I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u] for you

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts-

[name_u]Elias[/name_u]-[name_u]Elias[/name_u] Ramage sounds great. It really is a tricky last name, & I think that this flow is perfect. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is a beautiful name. It’s my favorite ‘[name_u]Eli[/name_u]’ name by far. [name_m]Just[/name_m] has a kind, fresh (although old fashioned at the same time), charming feel to it.

[name_u]River[/name_u]-I really adore [name_u]River[/name_u]. It’s handsome, outdoorsy, gentle & down to earth but still really masculine. I don’t know that I care for [name_u]River[/name_u] Ramage, but wouldn’t let it be a deal breaker.

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]-I don’t love this w/your ln, but it’s really fine. Not too bad, just the 'r’s run into each other. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a darling name w/lots of great nn options; [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Thatch[/name_m] & Thax are my favorites. It’s getting a bit popular if that bothers you.

[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]-This sounds good w/your ln! It’s a little boring though in my opinion. A really good solid name. I just can’t get into it.

[name_u]Noah[/name_u]-No way! This is way way more popular for boys. A very handsome strong boy name in my opinion. [name_u]Noah[/name_u] Ramage sounds really good. [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is very common though.

[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]-[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] Ramage isn’t great but it isn’t awful. [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is a beautiful yet masculine name. I really like it. The nn [name_m]Gabe[/name_m] is cute, but there are also a few more unique options like [name_u]Gaby[/name_u], [name_m]Gib[/name_m], [name_m]Gibby[/name_m] or [name_m]Gil[/name_m].

[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]-[name_m]Jacob[/name_m] Ramage sounds good. [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] is a super handsome classic. I like how it sounds gentle yet outdoorsy & a little rugged. Very popular of course, but for a good reason.

[name_u]Jonah[/name_u]-I like this on too,& it sounds nice w/your ln. It’s kind of quirky & sweet, but still boyish. Maybe not quite as common as the others.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m]-Hm. If [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is a special family name, why not [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]? That’d be fun & set him apart. I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! It’s really sweet, simple, vintage & quirky.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I love both [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u]! [name_u]River[/name_u] Ramage sounds a bit like character straight out of a teen drama series, but I kinda dig it. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] seems more classic to me, if that helps. From your list, I also like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as they are familiar but not too overused.

I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_u]River[/name_u] for you! I would worry about [name_u]Noah[/name_u] being mistaken for a girl. I think most people still automatically think boy when they hear it.

Huge fan of [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]!

Have you thought of [name_m]Silas[/name_m]? Very similar to [name_u]Elias[/name_u].

Thank you so much for the feedback! Especially @MichelleM also your dog is gorgeous :dog::dog:

Aww, thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I love ALL these names, with the exception of [name_u]River[/name_u] because I don’t think it fits with your surname.

[name_u]Elias[/name_u] is so dashing and perfect, you can’t go wrong with him! [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is definitely all boy to me. I would save [name_m]Leo[/name_m] for [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] in the middle spot.

Good luck! Look forward to hearing what you decide

Elias is a great choice and seems to have a lot of meaning for you. [name_u]River[/name_u] might not go as well with your last name. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u]?

[name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] are my favorites!

I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]!

Thank you so much for the feedback from everyone @MichelleM your welcome I’m a massive dog lover so couldn’t help gushing! I’m really loving [name_u]Elias[/name_u] & [name_u]Noah[/name_u] despite [name_u]Noah[/name_u]’s popularity I just love it! Thank you for the feedback @tjprej but [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] are family names so there probably going to stay :purple_heart:

Thanks [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I honestly think [name_u]River[/name_u] is great just sounds a bit off with my surname unfortunately my surname is such a difficult one! I do love [name_u]Noah[/name_u] despite its popularity and I really like [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. But boys names are so so hard!!! If this baby is a girl I’ve got it sorted her name will most likely be [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
