What do you think of [name_m]Saxon[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]?
It’s been really hard to settle on a boy name, and I’m still not fully sure about it… But it fits the bill of what we are looking for: unusual without being too out there. I also really like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] for the middle name. What are your thoughts? Or do you have any other suggestions for first names that go with [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] as a middle name? (Last name starts with H, four syllables and ends in a Y) Thanks!
I like it! I personally might opt for Saxton because we had friends with that surname (which i always liked!) plus I think it’s a bit easier to say…and I like how it sort of diffuses the sax on/sex on sounds so the name as a whole sounds more surname-Y…but overall I think it’s a very handsome name - [name_m]Saxon[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]! Very posh and regal!
I think while it looks good on paper, when said aloud, it’s really reather hissy. As first and middle are rarely said out loud together though, it’s not too big a deal I suppose. Somehow, [name_m]Saxon[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] manages to sound both classy-regal as well as contemporary-cool.
I think it flows just fine, and since I don’t suppose he’d be going by both names, it shouldn’t be a problem. Unless your surname is full of Ss?
I do quite like [name_m]Saxon[/name_m]!
Others that came to mind were Exton and [name_m]Daxton[/name_m] (I know two little ones named that, cuties), or [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]… which I don’t suppose resolves anything other than an ‘it sounds odd’ issue. But thought I’d put it out there anyway
I like how it looks but agree that it is S heavy. That said, you will rarely ever use both first and middle name so I think it should stay on your list at least. I really like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] though! What about [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]? I feel like it’s unexpected and at least where I live it’t not a very common name at all. Plus it has that great nickname [name_u]Dash[/name_u]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if you just change it to [name_m]Paxon[/name_m] or [name_m]Daxon[/name_m] or [name_m]Dixon[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] it sounds much better too. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps
Never been a huge fan of [name_m]Saxon[/name_m] (of course that was the company that made my math textbooks so I might be biased). I think you have gold there with [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] though so I submit the following suggestions:
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] - if you are really jiving on the “x”
[name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] - similar in sound, more popular/modern though
[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]
[name_m]Cleon[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] - all the benefits of a 2-3-4 name with about as few letters as possible, I’m really liking this one right now
