[name_f]Sedna[/name_f] → it has a warm, earthy sound
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f] → quite nice - I want to like it more, but it reminds me a bit of ‘begging for mercy’?
[name_f]Idony[/name_f] - [name_f]Idony[/name_f] has a very on trend sound with an ancient mythological meaning, which is appealing. But something about it doesn’t quite hit for me. It autocorrects to I don’t, which I’m not a huge fan of.
[name_f]Ixchel[/name_f] - This is the most intriguing for me. I LOVE the meaning, I love that she’s a moon goddess. [name_f]Mayan[/name_f] culture and mythology is fascinating and I think this is an especially great name if you have ties to said culture. The pronunciation EE-shell is beautiful, though I imagine many people would mispronounce and misspell it. I don’t particularly care, I think this name is stunning.
[name_f]Sedna[/name_f] - Another mythology name. I read the story of [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] as a child and found it beautifully dark. I love a name with a connection to the sea and orcas and whales. In terms of sound, [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] does seem like a combo of [name_f]Selma[/name_f] and [name_f]Edna[/name_f]. It’s very heavy, but I like it more the more I think about it.
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f] - I like this one, but less than [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] or [name_f]Ixchel[/name_f], I think. It’s a very light name to me. It sounds almost like a nickname. I’d maybe favour it more as a nickname for Mercia or [name_f]Marcella[/name_f].
[name_f]Idony[/name_f] - I think it’s pretty, but something about it makes me not love it – I think it looks too much like a word to me, similar to irony? I like its variants (Idunna & Idunn) more, but I still like it! It has a distinct sound and I like the possibility of the nickname [name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_f]Ixchel[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] this one!! It feels so sunny and bouncy! Like a fruity cocktail on a summer’s day. The meaning is gorgeous too! It reminds me of [name_m]Itzal[/name_m] which is one of my favourite Basque names.
[name_f]Sedna[/name_f] - Not a bad name, I kind of like the -dna family of names. [name_m]Sid[/name_m] could be a cool nickname too on a girl !! That said, it’s probably my least favourite on a list. By the way, you may like [name_f]Sidony[/name_f] / [name_f]Sidonie[/name_f], it feels like a combination of [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] + [name_f]Idony[/name_f] to me!
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f] - I’m not much of a fan of [name_f]English[/name_f] word names but I quite like this one! I think it feels very name-like since it’s so similar to names like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Macey[/name_f] which I like, and the meaning is a good one too. I’d be excited to meet a [name_f]Mercy[/name_f]!
[name_f]Idony[/name_f]- this one [name_f]Ive[/name_f] loved for a long time. It has a very bright, airy sound and a lovely meaning
[name_f]Ixchel[/name_f]- Im familiar with this one in its more common spelling of [name_f]Itzel[/name_f], which personally I think I prefer. I dont dislike [name_f]Ixchel[/name_f] but Im less confident on the pronunciation.
[name_f]Sedna[/name_f]- love the meaning! The pronunciation though is a little clunky and not my favorite sound wise.
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Mercy[/name_f]! Its timeless, graceful and understated.
