[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there, would appreciate some opinions on these names. Not in the slightest bit bothered about comments regarding bullying as I think it’s absolute bulls**t in a modern, multi-cultural society, where children have names from all corners of the globe.
Anyway, any preference, or strong dislike to any? I do love them all.
Thanks!!
PS - not bothered about animal connotations… or [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] Woods
My favorite is [name_m]Tygo[/name_m]. I know you weren’t asking for comments about bullying, animal connotations or [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] Woods, but I would never name a child [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] for those reasons. And [name_m]Tyge[/name_m] looks kind of unpronounceable to me at first sight. So my pick is [name_m]Tygo[/name_m].
I really like [name_m]Tiger[/name_m]! You might get a few raised eyebrows to begin with but i think its a name that people will adjust to very quickly and not think twice about.
I don’t like [name_m]Tygo[/name_m]. I read it as “typo” almost every time (probably because I’m dyslexic, but still)
Bullying though, is not, by any extent, bullshit that doesn’t happen in modern multi-cultural societies. I personally don’t think “strange” names are more likely to be bullied, because I had a pretty normal name and still copped it something chronic, but to say it doesn’t happen or wont is a little delusional. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let it stop you, but don’t be blinded to it either, is all I’m saying.
tilelli - Maybe it’s because I’m a writier, but I kind of think Ink would be an amazing name.
I loooove [name_m]Tyge[/name_m], wish it went with our surname, I would change up my long loved first name preference for [name_m]Tyge[/name_m]! I really don’t think pronunciation is difficult.
I love [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m], pronounced the same as [name_m]Tyge[/name_m] (like [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] without the ‘er’). As for the 3 you have listed, I really don’t have a preference to be honest, I don’t mind [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] and Tigo could work being similar to [name_m]Tiago[/name_m] - in fact, [name_m]Tiago[/name_m] could also be used as a given name with the 3 you listed as likely nicknames.
[name_m]Tygo[/name_m], then [name_m]Tiger[/name_m]. Not really sure how [name_m]Tyge[/name_m] is supposed to be pronounced.
As far as bullying goes, I’m a teacher in elementary school and nearly all of the early bullying on names comes from the adult parents. It seems to be becoming less of an issue. One thing is to sort of shame adults when they are caught discussing their opinions in a bullying way when children can hear. If they have comments on [name_m]Tygo[/name_m] or [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] or any name, that’s best left over coffee or an online forum when the kiddos are well out of earshot.
I like [name_m]Tiger[/name_m]! You could always use [name_m]Tygo[/name_m] or [name_m]Tyge[/name_m] as a nn. But [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] is so strong and bold. I think it is super!
I love [name_m]Tygo[/name_m]! I also like [name_m]Tyge[/name_m] though it doesn’t feel like a full name for me. Would you consider [name_m]Tycho[/name_m]?
The only reservation I would have for [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] is that it would be a difficult name to carry for a boy who was not ‘tiger’ like enough. During his teen years especially. So sorry [name_m]Tygo[/name_m] or [name_m]Tiago[/name_m] would be my choice.
