[name_f]Trina[/name_f], [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], [name_f]Thora[/name_f], [name_f]Thelma[/name_f], and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] are the choices that spring to my mind.
One of my best friends since junior high is named [name_f]Trina[/name_f] which is probably the whole reason I love it. Though it has a swirling, dancing wholesome image I like too.
I’ve wanted to name my daughter [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] [name_f]Evening[/name_f] for about a million years, and [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] itself since I was a little girl and discovered the laughing naked Greek muse of comedy painting at the [name_u]Palace[/name_u] of the Legion of [name_u]Honor[/name_u] Museum in San [name_m]Francisco[/name_m].
I love [name_f]Thora[/name_f] too, though with both names I don’t fancy Thale or [name_m]Thor[/name_m] as nn’s.
And then there’s [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] which I know is ugly, but I still love it. Call it middle aged nostalgia for [name_f]Mayberry[/name_f]!
And then [name_f]Tess[/name_f], who makes me think of Hardy’s tragic heroine with the “mobile peony mouth” and unbearable fate and [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] Hepburn’s superior [name_f]Tess[/name_f] [name_m]Harding[/name_m] in Woman of the Year. [name_f]Tess[/name_f] was at the 999th place in the US in 2013. Has she revived and I missed it? I hope so. So short yet so strong a name.
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f] [name_f]Evening[/name_f] is such a lovely combo! I also like [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] comes to mind, though I haven’t decided if I like it yet.
[name_f]Trina[/name_f] is pretty and sleek! I love the strong but cool [name_f]Thora[/name_f] and [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] has flair!! [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] is pretty cosy -it was my great grandmother’s name
[name_f]Tess[/name_f] is so warm and lovely- though the [name_m]Hardy[/name_m] association is very sad. I’d love to meet a little [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
I’d love to see [name_f]Twila[/name_f], [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] and [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] get some attention
[name_f]Tess[/name_f] is on our list for actually usable girls’ names! I love it.
I’m also quite partial to [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] myself. I think I’m partly influenced by a TV show I love but still, it has a sweetness to it that I love.
We’re actually naming our little one [name_f]Tricia[/name_f] (or [name_f]Trisha[/name_f]? haven’t decided on a spelling. I also love [name_f]Trista[/name_f] and [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]. To answer your question, I haven’t seen [name_f]Tess[/name_f] around, but [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] has become popular in recent years.
So glad there may be another [name_f]Tess[/name_f] out there!
And I forgot about [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] - and [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]. [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] definitely qualifies for a revival, although [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] doesn’t seem to have ever been in the US Top1000. I love these chipper and cheerful names.
Oh, how could I forget [name_f]Tricia[/name_f]! Not as keen on [name_f]Trisha[/name_f] myself, but [name_f]Tricia[/name_f] (rather than Patricia) seems lovely to me. A very friendly sounding name.
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] is my beloved kitty’s name though I am sad to see it has never been popular in the US which is just one of 5 million things that makes me an ardent anglophile!
I haven’t heard Tess much, but Tessa seems to be everywhere where I live, often with the nn Tess! I think I’ve met 5 now, all go by Tess for short.
My personal picks for revival are Tabitha and Tilly. I grew up watching a lot of Bewitched reruns with my mom as a kid, and my best friend in high school was named Tabitha after the show (she looked a bit like Elizabeth Montgomery’s Samantha though!) so it’s always felt fresh to me. Tilly’s never really taken off here, but it has such a sweet sound.
Oh [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is one of my most favorites and has been since I was a little girl and first heard it. I’ve never actually met/seen/heard of one in person. [name_m]Just[/name_m] one [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] I heard of. I would love to see this one or maybe use it
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] is a rare one too, along with [name_f]Thelma[/name_f], [name_f]Trudy[/name_f], [name_f]Tanya[/name_f] (I know of a tan-ya and a ton-ya pronunciation), or even [name_f]Talia[/name_f] (one I heard last night and have been pondering on since then)!
I love [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]! Other nice T names are [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] and [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] boys have very Irish names, so those two really fit our sibset vibes.
