Olivia doesn’t like her new house. It doesn’t look haunted on the outside, a recently built house in a suburb made for families, but [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] knows what she sees. A strange, ghostly woman is haunting [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]’s new home, and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] can’t rest until she finds out who this spirit is, and what exactly she wants from [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].

New Title: One [name_u]Night[/name_u] in [name_m]Rusty[/name_m] Landing

When [name_m]Clark[/name_m] first read the town’s name on that wooden sign in the middle of nowhere, he thought there couldn’t have been a better way of describing it. Everything was dirty and so run down, it seemed like nothing in this place had ever been new, as if the whole town had just started existing instantly with everything already broken. “It’s just one night,” he told himself, just get something to eat, some sleep, and a tank full of gas, then he’d be on his way again, and by the next evening he’d be in his new home and sleep in his new bed. “[name_m]Just[/name_m] one night,” he told himself as he paid for the overpriced food and gas, as he noticed the couple on the next table giving him weird looks, as he ignored the cockroaches that shared his bed.
But hardly an hour into the continuation of his trip the next day, it becomes clear that [name_m]Clark[/name_m] will not be forgetting this night so easily. He hears a faint whimpering from the back and stops to take a look - he finds a baby in his trunk. He wants to call the police - his phone is gone. He empties his suitcase looking for it - and finds several thousand dollars in cash that hadn’t been there before. What happened that night in [name_m]Rusty[/name_m] Landing?

Gnometales

Hannah would like to get a couple of things straight – one, she hates fairytales, and two, she definitely doesn’t know the entire plot of ‘Gnometales’ inside out…
Fine, so maybe that’s a lie, but it’s only because her little sister and brother force her to read the stupid story over and over again, okay?
It is. It really is.
It’s not because she actually likes the story, it’s not because of that. Gnometales is a stupid, cliche fairytale book and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] hates it, she hates it with every inch of her being.
It’s also definitely not because the book seems to keep seeping into her dreams, it’s… okay, no, it is that.
So why, exactly, has [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] just woken up from one of her typical ‘Gnometales’ dreams only to be confused as to what just happened, if the dreams have always followed the stories she knows by heart?

What did I just write…?

Honored To Be Here

It’s not everyday you get a second chance at life… and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] definitely doesn’t think she “deserves” one. But here she is all the same, and she is honored. Twelve years ago, [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] was convicted to a life in prison. Accomplice to murder. [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] still can’t wrap her mind around that. Exactly what happened, exactly what did she do, exactly how did she end up here and what the f@#k is she going to do with the “rest of her life”? [name_f]Every[/name_f] day in prison for those twelve years was a monotonous repeat of regret, denial, confusion, guilt, anger, remorse and yet… hope. Then came the Prisoner Rehabilitation Act of 2021 and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] got her second chance. [name_m]Chosen[/name_m] to be part of progressive pilot program in which prisoners convicted of life sentences are released, upon condition. The condition is HERE, Twelve [name_m]Oaks[/name_m] Life Renewal Center. And she is honored to be here.

Butterfly Kiss

“Oh, my [name_f]Papillon[/name_f], how I love you so.”

Those were the last words [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] ever heard her husband say to her. [name_u]Or[/name_u] rather, the last words she remembered he say to her, as he lay dying in a filthy alleyway. The men that came the next day said there must have been something else. Something more than a last sentiment and his favorite nickname for her. Something that told her where he stashed the $14.5 million. The money he died for.

Lilia doesn’t know where it is. She thought she knew her husband. She thought she knew a lot of things. What she doesn’t know is that those seven words would send her down a maze of secrets, lies, betrayal; followers, assassins, watchers. And in the center: the butterfly.

(I only write these weird mystery-thrillers, haha)

Sadie, [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and [name_m]Tom[/name_m] used to play in the woods together all the time. They’d pretend they didn’t have a home, having to live on their own together out in the wild, calling themselves The Lost Ones.
Ten years later, [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] has already left for college, [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] seems to have nothing but Baseball on his mind, and [name_m]Tom[/name_m] finds himself thinking about the woods again. That word is back in his life, the word “lost”, this time in the form of what his teachers have started to call him: a lost cause. He can’t seem to do anything right, and the idea of living out in the wilderness becomes more and more tempting. A thought grows into a plan, and by the time the mid-terms come around, he’s ready to be a Lost One again. He will do this, with or without [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_m]Lewis[/name_m].

How to leave Quickwater Falls

All [name_f]Lana[/name_f] has ever wanted to do ever since moving to Quickwater Falls three years ago was leave. And with her eighteenth birthday approaching fast, she might just be able to. But everytime she attempts to leave, it feels like a roadblock is thrown into her way. Her mom falls ill with an untraceable sickness, her dead best friend calls her at exactly 1:03 every night, and she becomes the prime suspect in a string of robberies turned deadly. [name_f]Lana[/name_f]’s world comes crashing down around her, and she doesn’t know who to trust. And as she searches for answers it becomes clear that someone, or something, doesn’t want her leaving Quickwater Falls.

Also, I thought Pittsburg Rare from a few posts ago was brilliant, so I’m going to take a stab at it if that’s all right.

Three this month. Three the month prior. The killer was quite punctual, if unfortunately so. And smart. So smart that they had in fact predicted the currents of the [name_u]Thames[/name_u] so well that the bodies washed up in the exact same place, on the exact same day they had the month before. Six bodies. Six people with absolutely nothing in common, except for the method of killing. The bodies were completely charred on the outside, and well, rare, on the inside. The killer had created six perfectly cooked human Pittsburg Rare steaks. No clues. No anything to point them in the direction of the killer, frustratingly enough to Detective Lancen. But when an anonymous tip sends [name_u]Issa[/name_u] Lancen hot on the tail of the killer, it seems that he’s found the killer’s next target. Him.

Annie was walking along the clouds, flapping up & down, despite her injured wing. At this point, she was struggling to get along. After what [name_m]Damian[/name_m] had done to her, she never wanted to see him again in her life. As her mother has always told her, “You should never trust a demon”. And then, she heard it.

"Angelique!" The voice screamed. Hearing her name, [name_f]Annie[/name_f] pirouetted around in the best way her leg could get her, attempting to be formal. Nobody called her by her real name, so this had to be serious.

She has squinted to protect herself from the wind when she pivoted, but she now opened her eyes wide, & she could not believe them.

She blinked. Nope, still there.

It was him. He was in [name_f]Heaven[/name_f].

Sorry for the edit, NB has strange formatting.

“Lab Rats” that’s what they called them. It sickened her. It sickened her that they were using her and her friends to perform their demented experiments on. She knew it was World War Two and that [name_m]Lukas[/name_m] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f] were twins, but that was no reason for them to dissect them. She couldn’t wait for freedom, proper burial for [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f], seeing her mother again, all of it. “Lab Rats” that’s what they called them.

Triplet Angels and a Demon walk into a [name_u]Bar[/name_u]

Three angels and a demon walk into a bar. Sounds like the punchline to a bad joke. Maybe thats why [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] has to stifle a laugh when she and her brothers Raziel and Zadkiel run into a demon at Simply [name_u]Divine[/name_u] Drinks. You’d have to be a fool to be a herald of [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] and amble into known angel territory that way. But when the simple banishing spell backfires and the demon revealed himself as Mammon, the demon of Greed, of the High Order of the [name_u]Seven[/name_u] Sins, once thought to have been sent to the deepest reaches of Hell, the siblings realize that this incident goes deeper than they ever could have imagined. And the only way to stop the rapidly approaching Evil is to reunite the Twelve Zodiac Archangels, [name_u]Ariel[/name_u], Zad, and [name_u]Raz[/name_u]’s insufferable siblings. Their quest takes them across the expanses of [name_f]Heaven[/name_f], Hell and the greatest punishment ever know to angelkind, the mortal realm. But will it be enough to stop the ever powerful [name_u]Seven[/name_u] Deadly Sins? [name_u]Or[/name_u] will the souls of everyone [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] has ever loved be damned and bound to the Demon of Pride, [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] himself? When weight of the Three Realms weighs heavy on Ariels shoulders, will she crumble?

Gilded Throats and Poison Words

Ayla [name_f]Maren[/name_f] has been told that sirens are a myth thousands of times. Well, considering that her older sister [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]’s bedroom mirror doubles as a portal into a world called Eldina, maybe sirens are actually real.
And they are.
The only problem is that with the realness of sirens comes the realness of their powers. A powerful group of people in Eldina, the Gatherers, are striving to ‘collect’ people like [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], like [name_f]Delphi[/name_f], and lock them away so they can enact an evil plot. On their side they have a siren, a terrifyingly powerful young boy known as ‘[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]’. And his song is deadly. It pulls those fool enough to listen into a state where they’ll willingly change sides, or walk straight into the Gatherers’ lair. A place nobody knows the location of except for the highest ranked Gatherers.
[name_m]Can[/name_m] the [name_f]Maren[/name_f] sisters withstand [name_m]Apollo[/name_m]’s poison words when confronted, or will they be fooled by his gilded throat?

(the title would have fit this better if it was ‘Gilded Voice and Poison Words’, really, but close enough fit)
