Dying Flames
[name_m]Cassander[/name_m] Petrel is dying. When the world froze two years ago, fire elementals, once feared, were suddenly in great demand. For the first six months, [name_m]Cassander[/name_m] was thrilled–finally, he felt useful. But no power comes without a price, and Cassander’s destroys his life force at an unprecedented rate. The fire elementals of the world have been dropping like flies in the past two weeks, and [name_m]Cassander[/name_m] is sure that he’s next.
[name_m]Emrys[/name_m] Aldwell is alive. As an ice elemental, also newly needed, he should have been dead from magic overuse long ago. But something is different about his powers. They replenish his life instead of draining it, although he’s careful never to let on the extent of his rare skill. [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] only knows of one other person like him: his great-aunt, who left to become a scientist before he was born.
[name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_m]Cassander[/name_m] are opposites, but nothing makes sense to either of them anymore. When they’re forced together, they may be able to fix this dying world–or die themselves in the process.
Next title: Drowning in Tears or Dog Days
I’m very invested in this now. . .
