What are your thoughts on the name [name]Titus[/name]? Is there too much teasing potential, or is it usable? Honestly, I personally don’t have any issues with it, but I’ve gotten some comments on it that makes me wonder if I should worry. I’m interested to get some more opinions on this name.
[name]Even[/name] though it’s pronounced “[name]TY[/name]-tis”, I really think the first syllable which descibes a part of the female anatomy is a turn-off. I think there would be potential for teasing so personally I wouldn’t use it. Along with names like [name]Maximus[/name] and [name]Adonis[/name]. I think it would take an extraordinary boy to pull it off. There are so many other great Classical names: [name]Cassius[/name], [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Marcus[/name], [name]Cyrus[/name] and [name]Julius[/name] are a few I can suggest off the top of my head!
I love [name]Tiberius[/name] as a fn. Folks on this forum warned me against it as being’ too out there/stuffy/etc.’, I think [name]Titus[/name] falls into that category too. I do know a dog names [name]Titus[/name].
I’m pretty fond of [name]Titus[/name], personally. I think it is very usable - though I do concede that you can never tell what kids might pick up on to use as teasing material.
I wouldn’t use it. I know if a kid named [name]Titus[/name] provoked me, his name would be the easiest and probably the most sensitive point of attack, so I would definitely have to have a fantastic reason to use the name, sorry.
I love the name … but I probably wouldn’t use it. I put this in the ‘just a little too far out’ column.
I am pretty conservative though and if I heard someone else use it I would be pleased
I think it’s a great name! I know of a little baby [name]Titus[/name]. We might have considered it ourselves if it didn’t kind of clash with our last name.
[name]One[/name] of the little boys in our playgroup is [name]Titus[/name]. It is definitely not my style, but I think it can work as a name.
I know a little [name]Titus[/name] (juts turned 2). I think it’s great. I think the teasing potential is over-rated. Let’s face it: kids are inventive and will find something about almost any name to tease and despite the spelling, I don’t think [name]Titus[/name] lends itself to teasing anymore than [name]Quinn[/name] or [name]Amos[/name] or [name]Richard[/name]…
I knew a little boy named [name]Titus[/name] and it is great, but I always see the first 3 letters of the name. It could be problematic.
