[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m pregnant with my third, but first boy! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband wants to name him [name_m]Cedar[/name_m]. I think I like it, but I can’t come up with a good nickname or shortening of it, any suggestions???
[name_f][/name_f]
Also, middle names. I’m thinking [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Bond[/name_m] (family name and my middle name). [name_m]Or[/name_m] [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Glenn[/name_m] (after my dad). [name_f][/name_f] Thoughts? [name_f][/name_f] We could use both since we gave both our girls two middle names. [name_m]Or[/name_m] do something like [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] (then insert family name).
[name_f][/name_f]
I know I’m other thinking this lol so I need some nameberry friends help!
Congratulations! [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Cedar[/name_m] seems a little too tied to the tree/nature to use as a name, but [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Bond[/name_m] is a really cool combo! [name_f][/name_f]For nicknames (besides Cede, which could just arrive naturally): [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Ace[/name_m]- the letters are all in the name and I think the sounds make sense! [name_f][/name_f]Cee [name_f][/name_f]Ceddy [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Cedric[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]Ceo [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Cedro[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]Cenn (especially with [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] Glenn)
I like the name [name_m]Cedar[/name_m]! I have only known one [name_m]Cedar[/name_m], who is an adult now.
[name_f][/name_f]
As for nicknames, I like “C” as a nickname for [name_m]Cedar[/name_m].
[name_f][/name_f]
I like [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Bond[/name_m] LastName[name_f][/name_f]. [name_m]Glenn[/name_m] is also a fine middle name. I personally don’t love double middle names and don’t think it is needed here, but if you do go for it I would avoid [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] [name_m]Bond[/name_m], lol.
[name_m]Cedar[/name_m] is lovely! I’m loving the idea of continuing your double middle names pattern, and I think [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] [name_m]Glenn[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] is perfection – great sound & flow, and it honors your dad! [name_f][/name_f]Nickname ideas that haven’t been mentioned yet: Maybe CJ? [name_m]Dacre[/name_m] (the letters of [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] mixed around)? [name_m]Ced[/name_m]?
Both [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Bond[/name_m] and [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Glenn[/name_m] sound very cool! [name_f][/name_f]I like the suggestion of [name_m]Darry[/name_m] as a nickname. [name_m]Or[/name_m] maybe Dare.
[name_m]Cedar[/name_m] is charming [name_f][/name_f]- though there is something I find [name_f][/name_f]- I don’t know [name_f][/name_f]- a little awkward [name_f][/name_f]- in saying it [name_f][/name_f]- like it doesn’t flow quite naturally as a name to me. But I do think that might just be something I would need to get over!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Bond[/name_m] and [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Glenn[/name_m] feel a tiny bit too descriptive for me, so I probably would do [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name] [family name] in this case! Maybe not [name_m]James[/name_m] though with [name_m]Bond[/name_m]. [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] [name_m]Glenn[/name_m] ‘CJ’ would be cool!
[name_f][/name_f]
In terms of other nicknames: [name_f]Dara[/name_f]? [name_m]Cy[/name_m]?
My husband also really likes the name Cedar! I think he had a student with that name a few years ago and it stuck with him. I love that it has a somewhat soft sound but a meaning associated with strength and growth. I think Cedar Glenn has a nice flow, but a cedar glen would be a valley of cedars, and I feel like I’ve seen it as a place name before (like Walnut Grove or Maple Ridge). So I like Cedar James Glenn the most because it breaks up that association for me.
I like Cedar James Glenn of all your suggestions - for some reason Cedar Bond is giving me imagery of a type of glue for wood (ie a bonding agent).
Then yes CJ, Dara/Darry (legit Irish name) or Cy…
For Cy (my fave), you could think about having a Y in the middle name - eg Cedar Byron Glenn (a nod to Bond as well) or Cedar Rory Glenn etc. Obv you don’t need a Y to use Cy and you may wish to keep CJ as an option, but just a thought. I also like the flow of the two syllable first middle.
I would be excited to meet a Cedar in real life! In terms if nicknames, I don’t think one is necessary but what feels most natural to me is C. Just C or Cee.
Ceder Glenn sounds nice to me, but it does sound like a place so that is something to consider a d maybe makes Cedar James Glenn a better option even though I usually don’t go fir two middles. And yeah then you could do CJ as a nickname.
[name_m]Cedar[/name_m] is a marvelous name! It’s unique, charming, captivating and very handsome. [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] has a strong nature connection and a familiar sound. [name_f][/name_f]As a full name, [name_m]Cedar[/name_m] [name_m]Glenn[/name_m] [name_m]Bond[/name_m] sounds amazing, in my opinion!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Cedar[/name_m] doesn’t really need a nickname. It’s short and gentle, but you can consider: [name_f][/name_f]Ceci [name_f][/name_f]Cid [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Eder[/name_m] / Edar [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Eddie[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Ed[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]Cerry [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Rad[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]Dec [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Arie[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]Cez [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Red[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f]
I love the suggestions of [name_m]Ace[/name_m], [name_m]Cy[/name_m], [name_m]Ced[/name_m] and C.
