[name]Tobias[/name] is my top boy’s name, so it got my vote! It’s so strong, masculine and handsome–and unusual while still familiar.
I prefer [name]Tobias[/name] to [name]Tobiah[/name] because the -s ending sounds more masculine, and because [name]Tobiah[/name] is the version used in the Old Testament book of [name]Nehemiah[/name], where he was a bit of a bad guy.
I prefer [name]Tobias[/name] to [name]Toby[/name] because I like the formal [name]Tobias[/name] better, and it still contains the built-in nickname [name]Toby[/name]! I really like [name]Toby[/name] as either a nickname or a full name. While I was compiling my Top Ten [name]Dream[/name] List, I was in difficulties for a while because I fell in love with the combo [name]Toby[/name] [name]Nicodemus[/name]. It’s so unexpected, and it just sounds so good! But [name]Tobias[/name] [name]Nicodemus[/name] totally doesn’t work. Eventually I compromised by keeping [name]Tobias[/name], but pairing it with [name]Christian[/name], and going with [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Nicodemus[/name] instead.
Best wishes!

I like [name]Tobin[/name] (which wasn’t listed, I’m just saying) and [name]Tobias[/name]. I like a lot of Biblical -iah names but not [name]Tobiah[/name] particularly. And [name]Tobiah[/name] would just go ahead and clash with the others.

I don’t like [name]Toby[/name] as a full name.

[name]Tobias[/name] is awesome. It sounds more ‘finished’ than [name]Tobiah[/name], and still gives you the nn option of [name]Toby[/name].

I voted for [name]Tobias[/name] but my favorite is actually [name]Tobin[/name]. I prefer [name]Tobias[/name] to [name]Tobiah[/name] because, to me, [name]Tobiah[/name] feels…incomplete…idk. I didn’t vote for just [name]Toby[/name] because I don’t care for most nn’s as given names.
