I just recently discovered the name [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and I’ve fallen head over heels for it! But then today I discovered [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] and I think I might love it just as much. I’m always on the look out for twin names since twins run in my family and I really hope to have twins some day. Are [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] too close in sound and meaning ( [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] = beautiful flower and [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] = divine or heavenly flower) for twins? I definitely don’t want to repeat the calamity that are the twins’ names in my family, i.e. [name_f]Velma[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] and [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] [name_u]Gay[/name_u] as well as [name_u]Sheron[/name_u] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] and [name_f]Karen[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f].

It’s not nearly as bad as the other twin pairs from your family.
But they’re still way too close for my liking.

Yes, I do think they’re too close for siblings (twins or otherwise). I think I prefer [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] myself if I had to choose. I like the pronunciation “kuh-LAN-thee” and the nature association (orchids are mysteriously beautiful). While legit, [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] almost looks more like a smoosh of two names.
I was afraid of that. 
[name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] is still my favorite too I think. That’s how I pronounce it as well, mischa. If only I could find the perfect twin name for [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f]! I can’t get my husband on board with [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], which I think would be perfect.
what about [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Zahara[/name_f]? or [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]?
I think they are a bit too close unfortunately… maybe keep looking for some other Greek gems?

Oh, [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] and [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] would be lovely. I like the subtle flower theme. [name_m]How[/name_m] many people would know the meaning of [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] anyway? I also think that [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] is a better “fit” with [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] than than [name_f]Diantha[/name_f].

I think I’ll keep working on him because [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] really are perfect I think. They’re a subtle way to honor my granny who loved flowers and had ginormous azalea bushes in front of her house, but hated her name. I tried to sway him with [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] as a combo since he loves [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] so much, but to no avail. I still have about a year before we’ll start trying to conceive again though, so I have some time to convince him. 
Ooh, I love [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] so [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] is lovely [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] doesn’t work as a middle for [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] but if it worked with the first name you could use it in the middle: [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] _____ and _____ [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] wouldn’t be too matchy or close.
[name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] are pure perfection!!! [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] is too close (sorry), and I prefer [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] too. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Acacia[/name_f]? Similar to [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], but a little different. But name opinions can change a lot in a year, give him time,

I had a teacher who always talked about her 5 year old niece [name_f]Kalantha[/name_f] (pronounced as [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] I believe), and [name_f]Kalantha[/name_f]'s sister was [name_f]Arabella[/name_f].
Going by your signature, [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] & [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] would be perfect together too!
I like [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Diantha[/name_f] as a sibset but ONLY as middle names. I think that would be a nice connection.
Otherwise, I think I prefer [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f].
