I use the term “ghetto” for lack of a better word and hope nobody finds it offensive. Bit of background, baby will be of Caribbean, Hispanic and Italian descent and we will be mainly living in Barbados once he’s born. My family lives in uk so he will be spending time there too.
We’ve picked [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] as a first name and now the problem arises with middle names. He will have 2 middle names and these are the ones I like
I understand what you’re trying to say, but I don’t think these combinations sound ghetto at all. It’s a good mix of family names and names that you like.
Does your partner mind which brother he honours?
I particularly like:
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Tyrese[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_m]Javon[/name_m]
There’s a huge amount of internalised racism behind that word so I’ll refrain from repeting it.
But I think they’re all very nice names. I especially like [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Jaheim[/name_m] and [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Romelo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. Some other ideas-
It might help you narrow it down if your partner could maybe chose a brother they are especially close to? Or at least a favourite name? Because having one honor name is a lot more simple thAn having six
I understand what you mean by ‘ghetto’ ([name_m]Tyrese[/name_m], [name_m]Javon[/name_m] and [name_u]DeAndre[/name_u] are the only ones that feel ghetto to me, but it’s my associations with them - I wouldn’t call this racism, the same goes for a lot of names… For example [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], very white if you ask me) but I wouldn’t worry about it.
From your list, I like [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Jaheim[/name_m] and [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_u]DeAndre[/name_u].
Thanks for the replies. I hope no one was offended i just couldnt think of a different word. Yes he has 3 sisters too so a biiiggggg family! He doesnt seem to mind which brothers name as long as one of them is used and i dont mind either as all his brothers are great guys so i guess its which one sounds/flows the best.
I don’t think so, and those combos are lovely! It is true that certain cultures might use different names, but “ghetto” is a little extreme, so I wouldn’t say that. That being said, those are all legitimate names that I don’t think anyone would have a problem with. This is a touchy subject for some…
I don’t think these names are ghetto in the slightest bit. I consider a “ghetto” name to be something like Dymond . Anyway, all very nice combs. I like all of them really, but [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Tyrese[/name_m] is my favorite!
My favorites from your combos are [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Jaheim[/name_m] and [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Romelo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
If I could make my own combos from your list, I would pick [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Jaheim[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] or [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]DeAngelo[/name_m] [name_u]Luca[/name_u].
The middles from your favorites list most stylistically complementary to [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] are [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].
Suggestions for honoring your husband’s brothers:
a. Use déjà to honor DE-andre, DE-angelo, JA-heim and JA-von:
{[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] Déjà Aimé} … {déjà aimé is [name_m]French[/name_m] for “already loved”}
b. Use tyro to honor [name_m]TY[/name_m]-rese and [name_f]RO[/name_f]-melo:
{[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] Tyro Dux} … {tyro dux is Latin for “novice leader”}
There are some great names on this list. I agree with pp’s that ideally your partner could pick the brother he is going to honour and then you can work the second middle around that. One combo that I think is missing is [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]DeAngelo[/name_m]. I know there is the double-o repeat in the middle names but regardless I think this combo is devastatingly gorgeous. If it were me I would be secretly hoping he wants to honour his brother [name_m]DeAngelo[/name_m]…
Thanks everyone. I know its hard when there are so many brothers names to choose from. Im personally quite liking [name_m]DeAngelo[/name_m] and [name_m]Tyrese[/name_m] (the oldest and 2nd oldest respectively)
Would [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Tyrese[/name_m] [name_m]DeAngelo[/name_m] be too much?? [name_m]Just[/name_m] kinda thinking out loud here lol
