Too late for name change?

We are struggling to decide our second sons name! Our first is named [name]Kai[/name]. Originally we wanted to go with a k name for the second too, and we were deciding between kieran and kade. Because we still hadn’t decided as of a few days old and felt pressure, we settled on kieran… [name]Kieran[/name] [name]Rio[/name]. After a couple weeks we realized both mom and dad were still referring to him as the baby and not using his name. Also multiple people have thought we said [name]Karen[/name] when asking his name. He’s one month now and the name just isn’t feeling right. Is it too late too change? We’ve already announced his name to everyone. I wanted his first name to be [name]Rio[/name] originally because goes well with [name]Kai[/name]… [name]Both[/name] words for water, but my husband only agreed for middle name. If we were to change his name, this is what were considering.

Micah Rio
[name]Miles[/name] [name]Rio[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Rio[/name]
[name]Kade[/name] [name]Rio[/name]

Or leave as [name]Kieran[/name] [name]Rio[/name]?

Which do you prefer? Thanks!

First of all, I don’t think it’s too late. If you were considering the change because of some external reason as opposed to a gradual realization that the name doesn’t fit, it may be a different story, but your situation would cause me to reconsider as well (still referring to him as “the baby” is not necessarily an issue, it only is if you think it is).

[name]Kieran[/name] is a wonderful name. [name]Don[/name]'t let the [name]Karen[/name] confusion bother you.

I think all of your options are great, but for myself I would find both [name]Kade[/name] and [name]Kieran[/name] too close to [name]Kai[/name]. [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Sawyer[/name] are fantastic (both LOST names  ), but I prefer [name]Miles[/name] in combination with [name]Rio[/name]. [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Rio[/name] runs together a bit too much, a la Sawyerio. [name]How[/name] often will you say both first and middle together?

I also think simply calling him by his middle name, [name]Rio[/name], would work great. If hubby can get on board, of course. You wouldn’t even have to change legally, and he could have the option of going by [name]Kieran[/name] later in life if he wanted.

[name]Kade[/name] and [name]Kai[/name] are far too close.

If you like [name]Kieran[/name] then leave it. If you don’t, then I like [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Rio[/name] more.

[name]Rio[/name] as a first name would be Perfect. You could just leave his official name kieron, and call him by his middle name. [name]Ashton[/name] kutchers first name is [name]Christopher[/name]. So it shouldn’t be a problem.

I think that it’s not too late  If it was me I would probably call him [name]Rio[/name] and leave his official name the way it is. In not sure how it is where you live but here it’s a real pain to legally change a child’s name. If it’s the road you want to go down thought here are my thoughts on your list

[name]Micah[/name] [name]Rio[/name] - [name]Love[/name] the name and do like the pairing with [name]Rio[/name], not sure how it goes with [name]Kai[/name]
[name]Miles[/name] [name]Rio[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it with [name]Rio[/name] and with [name]Kai[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Rio[/name] -I think the names run together a little and it doesn’t have a ‘clean’ sound.
[name]Kade[/name] [name]Rio[/name] - I think [name]Kade[/name] and [name]Kai[/name] are too close.

Personally, I would call him [name]Rio[/name], and leave his first name.
