Too matchy?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] first son’s name is [name_m]Cole[/name_m] and we’re expecting another little boy. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_m]Gray[/name_m] is too matchy with [name_m]Cole[/name_m]?

[name_m]Welcome[/name_m] to Nameberry!

I can see where you’re coming from, but I think they’re fine together.

I don’t think they’re too matchy and work just fine together…

I assume you already thought about these but if you’re concerned-

Could consider longer version like [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] with nn [name_m]Gray[/name_m]?
[name_m]Or[/name_m] alternatively [name_m]Grant[/name_m] or [name_m]Graham[/name_m]?

Good luck!

No, they are an aesthetic but they’re not super matchy. And most people your boys know will know them as individuals rather than a set.

I don’t think they’re too matchy. They sound great together imo.

I like the color theme

Gonna go against the grain here sorry and say that I do find them a bit matchy. Both one syllable and together I hear them as word names ‘Coal’ and ‘Gray’. [name_m]Or[/name_m] like a crayon description for a very dark grey.

I would think a longer version for [name_m]Gray[/name_m] might be better.

But clearly others aren’t hearing it that way, and if you love them just as they are then go for it! Sibsets aren’t that important anyway, they’re separate people.

I think they work well together! Not too matchy, in my opinion.

I like it! The color theme works imo :black_heart:🩶

Sorry for a second comment but I often call my kids names together … [name_m]Will[/name_m] yelling “Cole, [name_m]Gray[/name_m] - time to go” bother you?

Yeah, I can see why you might be hesitant although they are both very handsome names.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] the suggestion of [name_m]Graham[/name_m] or [name_m]Grant[/name_m] nn Gray/Grey

I think they sound fine together

Considering the only obvious thing they have in common is one syllable and 4 letters…no they’re not too similar.

No, not too matchy! Besides most of the time, they will be talked about as individuals and not “Cole and Gray” so many people might not notice the similarities

I don’t think it’s matchy at all! I actually had to think about it for a minute, I think they are a cute pair

I would say a little matchy but still usable!

I think [name_m]Cole[/name_m] & [name_m]Gray[/name_m] sound great as siblings

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was that they would make great brother names not that they both are color names like others have pointed out. [name_m]Cole[/name_m] and [name_m]Gray[/name_m] sound very masculine.
