[name]Hi[/name] everyone So this baby girl is due at the end of [name]July[/name] and I am pretty sure we have settled on the name [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Before we decided this I mentioned the name [name]Victoria[/name], which I adore. I was quickly vetoed. [name]Ive[/name] been searching for the perfect middle name, and hubby suggested using [name]Victoria[/name] in the middle spot since I love it so much. I would save it for a future girl, but he is not budging on it not being a first name. With all that being said… is [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] too much name? I mentioned it to a friend and she quickly said it was Our last name is only two syllables. I usually prefer short 1 or 2 syllable middle names but I just really love this combo for baby. [name]Both[/name] names are pretty well known so does help the fact that they are both 4 syllables?
I mentioned it again to hubby after getting friends opinion and he said maybe we should give her something a little more “down to earth” but I don’t know that I’m ready to give it up just yet. Plus it just rolls off tongue for me, even if it is a lot lol
I think it’s fine. It reminds me kind of a “queen name” but I think it’s very pretty. I’m sure [name]Elizabeth[/name] will have some sort of nickname eventually, which shortens it.
I think its a lovely name, personally. Would you give her a nn? [name]Lizzy[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is very cute, as is [name]Beth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]!
[name]Both[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Victoria[/name] are classy and timeless, in my opinion. And, if you love it, then go for it!
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is a very MAJESTIC combo but perfectly fine! You can’t go wrong with choosing two classic, traditional and timeless names. These two names don’t follow any trends and they’ll never go out of style! Go for it!
Thanks for the opinions I’m sure [name]Elizabeth[/name] will have a nn of some sort and I’m in the process of figuring out which one I prefer.
so far [name]Ive[/name] considered [name]Elle[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Liz[/name], [name]Lizzie[/name], Lissy, [name]Libby[/name], [name]Liza[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], and [name]Beth[/name]. There are tons for this name name I would actually prefer to use just the full name but a nn wouldn’t bother me as long as it [name]Elizabeth[/name] was still used some of the time. I just love the whole name.
I’m glad yall like the combo I was just worried it would come across as too much or trying too hard…
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is beautiful - it’s a touch TOO royal for my taste, to be honest, and I’d worry that a future daughter would only have so many options for her name to stand up to her sister’s (something like [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] could maybe work), but for all that I like it a lot.
There are tons and tons of great nicknames. Besides the ones you’ve considered already (I love [name]Elle[/name]!), there’s [name]Betsy[/name], [name]Betty[/name], [name]Bettina[/name] (my daughter’s full name), [name]Elspeth[/name], [name]Bess[/name] and [name]Lisa[/name], and I’m positive I’ve forgotten a bunch.
If you use only one MN I think it’d be fine. My favourite girl combo is nine syllables, which is one syllable more than [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] (and it actually has [name]Victoria[/name] in it:)) [name]Lizzy[/name] [name]Vic[/name] or [name]Betty[/name] [name]Vic[/name] would be a very sweet nickname:)
Thanks everyone! It is really helpful to get some outside opinions on this. And yes there will definitely only be one middle name [name]Ive[/name] been searching baby names CONSTANTLY for weeks now and I think I may love this name too much to change it just so it will be shorter. I’m already feeling more confident about it.
Also I have decided not to reveal the full name to family/friends anymore until [name]Baby[/name] is here lol
oh and I almost forgot… I can use the nn [name]Evie[/name] since her initials will be E V. I [name]LOVE[/name] that nn even more than the [name]Elizabeth[/name] options I think we might just go for it! Thanks everyone and opinions are still welcome
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is beautiful!! I don’t think it’s too much at all. It sounds like this name is meant to be. Congratulations on finding the right name for your daughter!
