[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the name [name_m]Holden[/name_m] is part of the [name_u]Aiden[/name_u],[name_m]Caden[/name_m], [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] trend?
I would say that I kinda put my nose up at the [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] trend (be honest we all do it) and would not consider [name_m]Holden[/name_m] a trendy “here today gone tomorrow” name. Until I started loveing the name and putting it in the top 2 of my list that I started really thinking about the name [name_m]Holden[/name_m] as part of that trend.
In theory, no [name_m]Holden[/name_m] isn’t part of the -aiden group, it’s been around for much longer; however, I do look at is as a name that’s currently very much on-trend and has a similar modern vibe, though it definitely doesn’t share the “made-up” feel of the others!
No, [name_m]Holden[/name_m] doesn’t fit in with the -aiden trend at all. It has a strong literary tie which as been around for decades, and it’s never been an excessively popular name. All of the -aiden names follow the same structural formula and all gained flash popularity within the past few years. Other than sharing the -den sound, they really aren’t related at all.
[name_m]Holden[/name_m] to me isn’t part of the -aiden trend. I do think it is a trendy name, and the -aiden names are more tacky than trendy. I really like [name_m]Holden[/name_m]
It’s true that [name_m]Holden[/name_m] has been around for a long time and has literary ties and all that, but to me it is very much part of the current trend for -son/-ton/-den names. That’s not a criticism - I just think it’s very much “on trend” at the moment in terms of sound, as are many other long-established names ([name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_m]Greyson[/name_m], [name_m]Brandon[/name_m], [name_u]Hayden[/name_u], even [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] itself).
You may like some of these names more than others, and some of them definitely feel more distinctive or sophisticated than others, but I think they’re undeniably all part of the current craze for a very particular sound in boys’ names. The latest SSA list - particularly the top 100 - is a case in point. I don’t think you can really single out certain names with this specific sound as being somehow apart from, or “above”, the broader trend.
No, I wouldn’t consider [name_m]Holden[/name_m] trendy or part of a name trend group. To me it is an authentic classic sir name. I love it!
Perfectly put, I agree completely.
