My favourites are: [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], because I think it is beautiful and fierce; [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], because of [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]-[name_f]Tacy[/name_f], and just because it’s cute; [name_f]Bee[/name_f], because it is nature-y and fun; and [name_f]Betty[/name_f], because it is sweet and I know a lovely [name_f]Betty[/name_f] that the name reminds me of.
I might be the only one, but I really don’t care for [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. It’s fine on it’s own, but to me it feels forced as an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn since the I is pronounced so differently.
I like [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] but there’s a good chance that’s just because it was the nickname I was given. [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] makes me cringe (again likely because I’m a [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f]).
My dad sometimes called me [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] when I was little and nothing brought out my rage more. Now it reminds me of him and I think one day when I have my own little [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] that’s the front runner for her nickname.
Betty is another favorite of mine. It gives me vintage vibes.
I love [name_f]Elle[/name_f] but prefer it for other [name_f]El[/name_f]- names. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] already has loads of great options. Same for [name_f]Bee[/name_f].
Lily was my #1 nn choice before my dad passed. I still like it and who’s to say you can’t have more than one nickname!
Lilibet is my favorite for a little one. I also like that it lends itself to options later on. [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] might go by [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Bet[/name_f], [name_f]Bets[/name_f], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], or [name_f]Betty[/name_f] or all of them to different people!
Some ridiculous [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nns that I like are Lizard and [name_m]Zabe[/name_m], and I’ve got people who call me both lol
I really like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], however, if I were to use that, she would almost exclusively go by [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] rather than it being a nickname and there would need to be a reason why I would choose full [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] over just [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
As nicknames I really like [name_f]Liz[/name_f] / [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] and [name_f]Beth[/name_f] / Bethie because they give you a sweeter (childhood) option and a more mature nickname that can last into adulthood.
I also think [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_f]Bessie[/name_f] are adorable, if I were to call an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] by her full name most of the time, I think these would be nicknames I’d use.
Ella, [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and cute and I like them for other people but, like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f] feels like a full name to me and for [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] are just not as fun to me as the other options.
Elsie is my all-time favorite, but I think [name_f]Betty[/name_f] is so underrated, and definitely deserves a comeback! But honestly, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has amazing nickname options. Whichever you choose, it’ll be great!
