Well, my son’s name is [name]Noah[/name], so yeah  I knew it was popular when I picked it. I’m in the US, and when I named him in '08 it was 15, and it was 14 the year before so I thought it would be going down…I was surprised when it ended up in the top 10, but, not overly bugged by it. I think it’s 9 now or something like that, and sure we run into a few [name]Noah[/name]'s around town, but, they are all different ages, and he’s never had a repeat in his classes at daycare or preschool. When you love a name, you love it. And the way things are now, even the popular names aren’t used by as many people as before. Plus, I read somewhere that growing up, young kids seem to rate their popularity by the popularity of their name…[name]Noah[/name] lights up when he meets another [name]Noah[/name]…he thinks it’s cool.

Oh, [name]Noah[/name] is a great name from the Bible so I’m not surprised you chose it for your son. It bodes well that there are no other [name]Noah[/name]'s in his classes but even if that wasn’t the reality, if you and your son think it’s cool, then that’s all the matters! I’m of the opinion that if a name is still here after thousands of years, then it must be a good one! Thanks for sharing your experience! Take care!

Very interesting to see the various influences.

My faves:

[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name]
[name]Mathieu[/name] - don’t care for [name]Matthew[/name] but love the French version
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name] - a close family friend’s name we’d probably use for a MN
[name]Charlotte[/name]

MN’s: [name]Joshua[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Anthony[/name]
