I’m finally down to a top 7 for [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], and I’m pretty convinced that one of these is going to be it. I seem to be stuck from narrowing it down any further, though, so I think it’s time to get some [name_u]Berry[/name_u] opinions. WDYT of these combos? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a favorite?
[name_m]Drury[/name_m] is a name on my family tree that I’d like to include, and the [name_m]Eli[/name_m]- names and [name_m]Lion[/name_m] are in honor of my sister–it seemed about the closest I could get to her MN, [name_f]Eileen[/name_f]. [name_m]Brahms[/name_m] is for the composer [name_m]Brahms[/name_m], whose Hungarian Dances I adore! Also, the initials LB for [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]Brahms[/name_m] is for my grandfather, who had no actual FN or MN, just a set of initials.
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] are just about perfect. They both seem really well balanced, and [name_m]Drury[/name_m] is such a fun surname to get in there. My preference would be for [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] - I just like it a little better, plus the double ‘sh’ sound in Dashiell [name_m]Eli[/name_m]sha isn’t ideal.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of [name_m]Lion[/name_m] as a mn and in theory [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]Brahms[/name_m] is great but I don’t know…it’s maybe a little too wordy to me. My eye is drawn to the ‘[name_u]Dash[/name_u]’ in [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], then there’s [name_m]Lion[/name_m] and then [name_m]Brahms[/name_m] with which the almost exclusive association is the composer and his music (obviously that’s not a negative thing, it just adds to the wordiness for me). The repeated LIE sound in [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is a bit heavy for me, especially compounded with the back-to-back ‘l’ sound.
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] are my favorites from your list.
My favourites are [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elihu[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] [name_m]Drury[/name_m].
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elihu[/name_m] [name_m]Brahms[/name_m]?
Thanks, everyone! I think [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] is out. I was leaning toward it being my least favorite [name_m]Eli[/name_m]- [name_m]Drury[/name_m] option, anyway, but the comments have just cemented it. I like [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] in theory, but I haven’t been able to find a combo for him yet.
@omri - I don’t know why I hadn’t thought to pair an [name_m]Eli[/name_m] name with [name_m]Brahms[/name_m], so it’s a good suggestion, but I don’t think I like [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elihu[/name_m] [name_m]Brahms[/name_m] as much as I love [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]Brahms[/name_m] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elihu[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] separately.
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] is my favorite. I think having [name_m]Lion[/name_m] as a middle name would be super cool, but it runs into the L at the end of [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] too much. [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] would work, too.
[name_m]Eliab[/name_m] is too difficult to pronounce, I hear Lab. I prefer Eliad. [name_m]Elihu[/name_m], too weird for me. [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] doesn’t flow well. [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] sounds feminine.
So I would keep:
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Eliam[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]Brahms[/name_m] (my favorite! The names flow so well together).
And I like [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m]
