Doing this for the boys as well! I’m not sure when I last did one of these but now I am pregnant (

) and am looking at these names in a new light. Not sure of the gender yet! Please rate these names, leave comments on them and just give any feedback you’d like! Thank you

[name_u]Archer[/name_u] nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m] ~ familiar without being overused, cool imagery and a raffish vintagey nickname. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] ~ smart and timeless, I think you’d possibly struggle to avoid [name_u]Harry[/name_u], so perhaps better in the middle? Although with [name_m]Archie[/name_m] you’d be copy-catting [name_u]Prince[/name_u] [name_u]Harry[/name_u]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] nn [name_m]Luke[/name_m] ~ [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is sleek and international, [name_m]Luke[/name_m] is friendly and warm
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] ~ nms, I immediately think [name_m]Tom[/name_m] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] so if those are the vibes you’re after, I like it for you
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] ~ vintage and cheeky, I know a little one who wears it very well. However, it’s incredibly popular which personally would put me off (I really like it with nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] too!)
Favourite combo… possibly [name_u]Archer[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ‘Archie’ !

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Archer[/name_u] and [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]. I feel like these two go well together. [name_m]Harris[/name_m] could be the NN for [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] instead of [name_u]Harry[/name_u]. Although, I know a little [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] who doesn’t have a NN. He’s strictly [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]. They’ve not had anyone calling him [name_u]Harry[/name_u]. We live in the US though. That probably makes a difference.

Good to know! We’re in the US too! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband thinks [name_u]Harry[/name_u] is unavoidable but this gives me hope. Thanks

I don’t think it’s unavoidable here unless you have a last name like mine that has “man” in it. Then he will likely be teased with “hairy man”. That’s why we took [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] off our list.

[name_u]Archer[/name_u] nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m] – [name_u]Archer[/name_u] is cool and fresh, and familiar yet unexpected. [name_m]Archie[/name_m] is sweet too, though I worry a little about people associating it solely with [name_u]Harry[/name_u] and Meghan’s son and bringing that up often, because it’s not such a common name in the US as in the UK or Australia.
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] – [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] but worry that [name_u]Harry[/name_u] might be inevitable. You could ask people not to call him [name_u]Harry[/name_u] when he’s young, but by the time he’s in school it will be his choice if he’s okay with people using it, or he might even choose to go by [name_u]Harry[/name_u] full time. If your husband feels strongly against the nickname [name_u]Harry[/name_u] I might use this as a middle name instead in hopes of avoiding it.
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] nn [name_m]Luke[/name_m] – I like both of these names! Friendly and familiar. I appreciate how they fit any age or personality, and [name_u]Luca[/name_u] in particular has an international flair that makes it work in many languages.
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] – Sweet, outdoorsy, and laid-back feeling. I do wish it had a more obvious nickname (all I can think of is Soy?). This one also gets pronounced differently in different accents without necessarily having two distinct pronunciations where you could say you use the other one, so I would make sure you’re okay with both of them. (I hope this makes sense? I can try to explain myself better about the pronunciation thing if needed)
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] – [name_m]Classic[/name_m] and cool, although I feel like I see it everywhere these days. I’m not opposed to popular names at all (my top names are [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], lol) but with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] in the top 10 and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] in the top 100, I think it’s possible he’d be “Theo Last Initial” in class, if that is something that bothers you. I actually think it’s more likely with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] than with Luca/Luke despite their and Lucas’ combined popularity.

[name_u]Archer[/name_u] nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m] - [name_u]Love[/name_u]! The imagery, the ER ending, the nickname, it’s got so many great things going on!
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - I always think of [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Ford[/name_m], so it feels very cool, handsome, charismatic, and adventurous to me! I know a little [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] whose parents were nervous about it being shortened because they absolutely didn’t want him to be called [name_u]Harry[/name_u], but it has never been an issue for them. And I have honestly never even accidentally shortened it to [name_u]Harry[/name_u]. He’s just [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]. I don’t think people in the U.S. naturally use the nickname [name_u]Harry[/name_u]. (Isn’t [name_u]Harry[/name_u] supposed to be a nickname for [name_u]Henry[/name_u] too? There are definitely a ton of little Henrys running around and no one here is thinking to call them [name_u]Harry[/name_u]
). I see it the same way as [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]. She could easily go by [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], but if she introduced herself as [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], I would only ever call her [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f].
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] nn [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - It’s sweet and I like the sounds, but I think the popularity is a bit much for me. I was recently at a sporting event for my daughter and there were 7 kids named either [name_m]Luke[/name_m] or [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], just in her age group.
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] - One of my favorites! I love the woodsy, outdoor vibe, and literary reference. [name_u]Archer[/name_u] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] would make great brothers!
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] - I really like this one as well. [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is so approachable and cool, and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is that perfect balance of fresh yet old. I definitely see this one rising up the charts, but I have personally only met one and he went by [name_u]Teddy[/name_u].

My thoughts on your names
Archer ~ fun very cool name that has this Robin Hood spirited feel.
Harrison ~ I like Harrison but I think you may struggle to avoid Harry however I’m saying this with a family friend who has son called Harrison known as just Harrison so I’m not sure. However I think I wouldn’t run the risk if you intensely dislike Harry.
Luca ~ such a sweet European choice that feels upbeat and bright.
Sawyer ~ has a cowboy flair that feels fun, outdoorsy and cool
Theodore ~ love Theodore such a cosy, wholesome cuddly bear name which feels beyond adorable
I think Archer Theodore would be lovely
Other ideas could be
Fletcher
Shepherd

I’ll do the same as I did with your girls - rating and comments!
[name_u]Archer[/name_u] nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m] - 7 - rugged and cute at the same time
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - 3 - not a fan tbh, perhaps because like your husband, I dislike [name_u]Harry[/name_u]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] nn [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - 8/4 - [name_u]Luca[/name_u] gets the 8 - sparky, cool and charming. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] gets 4 - it’s okay, grounded and solid but doesn’t shine for me like [name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] - 6 - it’s grown on me; kind of charming and cool
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] - 7 - regal, elegant and fun too!

archer “archie” - 7/10 - super cute! archer is a nice, more “mature” sounding name and archie is adorable of course.
harrison - 4/10 - i think the nn harry would be inevitable! personally, i would remove the name from the running because of that.
luca “luke” - 8/10 - i strongly prefer the nn spelled luc, but it’s nice either way! luca is such a strong name, and the simplicity of luke is appealing as well.
sawyer - 3/10 - just nms, the sound is nice though!
theodore “theo” - 7.5/10 - so lovely, but just so popular! theodore feels like The name right now. but it’s very strong, with nice nicknames (teddy is so cute on a kid imo!), and theodore has a lot of history. it’s number 10 in the us right now, so just be prepared for that if you choose this!
some other ideas:
- august
- jasper
- flynn
- silas
- parker
- felix
- everett
- beckett
- elliott
- jude (or judah)
- oliver

I like Archer or Harrison. My cousin Harrison has always been Harry but my friend’s Harrison has got to age 14 and still strictly Harrison (though I’m sure some of his friends have taken liberties - Haz etc).
I think Harrison nn Archie works - it is Prince Archie’s name in one (Archie Harrison is his full name) but I don’t think that matters - it will be a different first name and, as your son grows, few will make the connection and no one will care! Harrison Charles/Charlie could make the nn Archie even more linked to the name.
I would either go with Luca or Luke. They’re different names - and if you’re going with the European Luca, you should stick with it and enjoy it! Luke isn’t as sparkly and I would otherwise go with Lucas or Lucian (loo-shen). If you go with Luca, he’s likely to get Luc sometimes (I would spell it like this to align with the full name).
I find Sawyer rugged and friendly but I don’t like the nn options and it’s maybe a little too thematic for me.
Theodore is great but I personally know a handful of Theodores and at least a dozen of you count Theo or Ted on its own (all under 7). I would go Edward or Edmund and nn Teddy or Eddy. Or maybe Edison - which ties in Harrison sound and Sawyer’s southern vibes.
Anyway, some great options!

@EloiseT @venezio yes! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn [name_m]Luc[/name_m] (spelled that way much better than Luke)! I love [name_u]Luca[/name_u] but I always shorten names lol

That’s my worry about [name_u]Luca[/name_u]. So many little Lucas’ and Luke’s running around.
[name_u]Archer[/name_u] is definitely my favourite for you- I just can’t see you not naming your (potential) little boy [name_u]Archer[/name_u]! [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] is probably second place for me for you. So happy for you!
