My favorites for you:
[name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_u]Jules[/name_u]
[name_m]Endymion[/name_m] [name_u]Jules[/name_u]/Jem
[name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m] [name_u]Jem[/name_u] - I have concerns since your husband doesn’t love the first name and it is a bit pretentious. But the nicknames are so nice and accessible.

I still don’t love [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m], but I never even knew it means “wrathful.” I really don’t think that can be easily mitigated. And it seems like maybe not your favorite? If your husband doesn’t love [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], I think it’s time to let that one go, too.

On the other hand, I love [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] but none of these combos feel quite right to me. I am someone who is very bothered when siblings don’t have the same number of middle names, even though I recognize that it doesn’t actually matter.

Some very handsome options here!

[name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_u]Jules[/name_u] seems like the winner by far. No cons, your partner loves it, and it’s a super dashing name. It would be my preference of all of the choices.

[name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] [name_m]Artair[/name_m] would be my second choice. [name_u]Milo[/name_u] seems like an odd throw-on here and takes away from the strength and awe of [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] [name_m]Artair[/name_m]. Plus, those two are a lot of name already, it doesn’t need anything else.

[name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m] [name_u]Jules[/name_u] would be my third choice. I love [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m], but I did have a student with this name who was rather big boned and bullied by his peers. I wish parents would raise their children better so they wouldn’t bully others, but it happens all too often, so that may be something to consider.

[name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m] sounds cool, but it’s…a lot. Besides the king and the sonnet, there’s the Watchmen character, all of which gives the name a fictional, larger than life feel that doesn’t make it seem right for a child or adult person in reality. I adore [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] though, and have it on our own list, with fulls like [name_m]Oswin[/name_m] and [name_m]Osric[/name_m].

I have a [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] in my family tree, but I would avoid this name. It sounds cool, but the meaning and associations aren’t great. [name_u]Trust[/name_u] me, The Odyssey is one of my favorite works of literature (I was even born and raised in [name_f]Ithaca[/name_f], NY), and I’ve read it and taught it more than any other book (we’re talking over 10 years, twice a year) and [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] is not an ideal namesake. He’s a complex hero - clever maybe, but very selfish, arrogant, philandering, violent, and murderous. Not to mention the fact that [name_m]Odysseus[/name_m] is the name of the character originally and [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] was bestowed on him by conquerors who outright stole and culturally appropriated everything. Not a name I’d want to have, nor want my child to have.

Rubeus, oh Rubeus. I want to love Rubeus. It looks and sounds so cool, but I can’t help thinking it will get shortened to [name_m]Rube[/name_m], which is the opposite of cool.

Finally, [name_m]Endymion[/name_m]. I’m rather neutral on this name myself. I can see it’s appeal, but I like other names more. If your partner isn’t keen on it, I wouldn’t use it.

[name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_u]Jules[/name_u] or [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] [name_m]Artair[/name_m]!

I agree with this. I understand the reasoning behind the name, but it’s sort of a mouthful having [name_u]Milo[/name_u] at the end.

I think [name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m] [name_u]Jem[/name_u] is such an excellent pairing for you. If I had to choose one combination from your list it would be this one. I love the meaning it has for you. The balance of style and sounds across the combination feels just right. I can see how [name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m] may seem grander than your other options but only marginally if at all. One might equally think, wow, I’ve never heard of that. [name_u]Or[/name_u], what a cool name. [name_m]Will[/name_m] it lead to any real issues? I don’t believe so. Once a name belongs to a person, it becomes that person and we stop thinking about such things beyond the first encounter. [name_m]Oz[/name_m] and [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] are very friendly, approachable nicknames in any case.

Honourable mention goes to [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] [name_m]Malachite[/name_m]. I am really pleased to see this TaM combination. It’s so handsome. I love the tonal greens and sublime imagery of these two names together. It has great honours and I strongly prefer the one middle name. I also looked up some images of babies and toddlers that shared some resemblance to H to try your names out. There were just three names that clicked for me. [name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m], [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] and Rubeus. I had [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] as one of my preferred names for you but after doing this exercise it no longer feels right. So my last choice would be Rubeus [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u]. I think each of the Rubeus combinations has clear strengths, but I can’t go past the [name_u]Jule[/name_u] honour. [name_u]Rue[/name_u] and TinTin would fit in well with your sibling set. I think the concessions list is a very worthy strategy in general.

For you I think that [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_u]Jules[/name_u], [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] [name_u]Jem[/name_u], and [name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m] [name_u]Jem[/name_u] are tied for first place (though I’d like to give a shoutout for the absolutely stunning [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m] [name_m]Scipio[/name_m]).

Constantine has gotten a lot of love already but I have to add that I adore the nickname [name_u]Kostya[/name_u].

I can’t decide if I like [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_u]Jules[/name_u] or [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] more. Both sound great. [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] might be the winner for me because of the wonderful meaning.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] based purely on aesthetic liking for the name and nothing else.
[name_u]Constantine[/name_u] [name_u]Jules[/name_u]
Rubeus [name_u]Oberon[/name_u]

Based on meaning alone
[name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] [name_m]Soloman[/name_m]
[name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m] [name_u]Jem[/name_u]

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite has to be

Rubeus [name_u]Oberon[/name_u]
Or Rubeus Constantine

These name combos are just so rich, magestic and memorable. Not to mention handsome and literary. So they are my top 2 and get my vote.

I also think Rubeus Oberon sounds absolutely perfect with big brothers names.
Rubeus Constantine would too.
The issue I have with the other names is they seem like they would outshine or upstage older brothers names and don’t feel as cohesive in the sibset. ( Just my opinion)

Baby is nicknamed Bao. H was Dim Sum. And since I’m Hyacinthbucket baby is Bao Bucket.

These are definitely drawbacks for all these names, I agree.

I think we have finally let Ulysses go after years and years of being drawn back to it. But we will see… ultimately the hunt isn’t over until it’s over…

Yes, yes, yes to everything said here. I’ve really let these comments sink in.

I couldn’t decide between [name_m]Ozymandias[/name_m] [name_u]Jem[/name_u] and [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] [name_m]Malachite[/name_m], so I voted for both. They’re both very you, and Taliesin’s a personal favorite of mine, as I’ve said before.
