I need some help with names please!!
My baby boy is not due yet, BUT I can’t help but to panic, I don’t want a nameless baby, not even for 10 minutes!
when he is born I need to have a list with 10 names I really love.
Anyhow. I’m into Timeless traditional boy names but have been starting to look into a little bit more fantasy-sounding names…
I really love [name]Edmund[/name], [name]Caspian[/name] & Drinian taken from [name]Narnia[/name], but OH only Okayed [name]Edmund[/name].
Any traditional, timeless and / or [name]Fantasy[/name]/Fictional-sounding names will help alot!! =) thanks!!
PS. Can’t do [name]Edward[/name] since my sons cousin is called that! =)
[name]One[/name] name I strongly considered was [name]Corrin[/name] (the prince from “the Horse and his Boy”) I might have used it, but it didn’t work that well with our last name. I am also really liking [name]Peter[/name] right now. Lots of good namesakes, simple, and manly. And of course I love [name]Caspian[/name], [name]Rilian[/name], and Digory, but my hubby already shot those down. My other favorite literary name is [name]Taran[/name], from the Prydain chronicles by [name]Lloyd[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. [name]Love[/name] these books!
My favorite book of all time is To Kill a Mockingbird, so of course my suggestions come from that!! I love the name [name]Atticus[/name] - I love the sound of the name, and I love what his character stands for as well. Another option could be [name]Jem[/name] (full name [name]Jeremy[/name]). I would absolutely use this nn for my future son, but my sister’s name is [name]Jennifer[/name], nn [name]Jen[/name] and I just feel like it would be too similar.
really loving [name]Rilian[/name] & Digory, totally forgot about them!!! & [name]Percival[/name], Aslan!! Gotta clear them with my Hubby so keep them coming!
our list so far is : [name]Edmund[/name] & [name]Henry[/name]… haha.
I like the name [name]Arthur[/name] after [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] and Hywel you can find the meaning of the name - Welsh boys names. I also like the name Ralph, I think it will come back into fashion.
I am a [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] fan so I think of - [name]Darcy[/name], [name]Willoughby[/name], Bingley, [name]Bennet[/name], [name]Fitzwilliam[/name].
Other traditional male names - [name]Henry[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Beauregard[/name], [name]Wesley[/name], [name]Bradford[/name], [name]Courtland[/name], [name]Edison[/name], [name]Theodore[/name]
You’re welcome! You’re benefiting from about 4 months of relentless searching! I found my printouts of the suggestions from other Berries, too, over the course of several posts of my own, so here they are too in case there’s anything you like (thanks to dantea, genevie, meepallie, dearest, ritapumpkinina, vivtaliesin, halfkoreangirl, & ellieberry, sorry if I missed anyone!)
