So I have a name issue I was hoping you could help me with!
I really love the name [name_u]James[/name_u] as a middle name for a girl. It’s a family name for me so if I ever have a daughter I’d likely give her [name_u]James[/name_u] as a middle name - many years in the future for me though
I find [name_u]James[/name_u] quite a boring/common/expected middle name for a boy but really cool and refreshing for a girl.
So I was wondering if anyone could help me with some similar names? Traditionally masculine/male names that would be cool as middle names for girls. [name_u]James[/name_u] is the only one I can think of that fits this vibe but I’d like to see if I like any others.
Many of these are unisex but I would say they all lean masculine:
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u]
[name_u]Max[/name_u]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_m]Vance[/name_m]
Personally I find this trend stupid. If it’s for a middle name, it’s not as awful, but just think about the bullying a girl named [name_u]James[/name_u] would have to endure. If you are thinking of family connections, and [name_u]James[/name_u] is the only option, then it is understandable, but if there’s a male family member you want to honor with a different name, maybe try to find the female version of it, such as “Oliver” → “Olivia”, “Joseph” → “Josephine”, etc
It is for a middle name. Many women have maiden names as middle names and I can’t think of a single one that has mentioned being bullied for it.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] if it was for a first name, some of these names - [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], [name_u]Blake[/name_u], [name_u]Evan[/name_u], Noa/h, [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_u]Jude[/name_u] etc. - are being used for girls and I’ve never heard of bullying incidents here either.
I understand your female version of the name comment but I mentioned in my post that I specifically like traditionally male names that have been used for girls in the last few years as middles for girls.
