Tree names

I absolutely have a strange connection to trees. I love looking at pictures of trees and studying their meanings. That being said, I would [name]LOVE[/name] a name that has a tree meaning. I don’t, however, like names that are too obvious about it, like [name]Willow[/name] or [name]Asher[/name]. I’d like to be a little more subtle about it.

[name]Do[/name] you guys have any suggestions? What are your favourite tree names?

[name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Forest[/name] are my favorite tree names.

[name]Hi[/name]! Here’s a blog on tree names that may be of help to you:

My favorite tree names are:

[name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Cassia[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Olive[/name]

Good luck!

OOO some of the names in the foreign names section I like a lot. Those are the kinds of names I’m looking for!

Thanks for sending me to that blog, jill

No problem! I’m so glad you found some possible names there! (And I forgot to list [name]Linnea[/name]. I love [name]Linnea[/name].)

I love tree names!

Take care!

I found another name that I love. [name]Ewan[/name]. In the Irish-Gaelic translation, it means “born of the yew tree.”

I’m nervous about how it flows with my last name though. Does [name]Ewan[/name] [name]Cully[/name] sound right?

I think [name]Ewan[/name] [name]Cully[/name] sounds just fine

I really like:
[name]Daphne[/name] (a nymph, she was turned into laurel tree by her father so she could escape [name]Apollo[/name])
[name]Melia[/name] (means “ash tree” in Greek, she was a nymph as well)
[name]Elah[/name] (means “oak tree” in Hebrew)
[name]Lina[/name] (means “palm tree” in Arabic)
Karya/Carya (was a dryad, a tree nymph)
[name]Morea[/name] (a dryad as well)

[name]Oren[/name] (means “pine tree” in Hebrew)
[name]Arlo[/name] (“barberry tree”)
[name]Lennox[/name] (“many elm trees”)
[name]Tannon[/name] (means “fir tree” in [name]German[/name])

[name]Rowan[/name] - type of tree
[name]Silvia[/name] - forest
[name]Pomona[/name] - fruit true
[name]Palmer[/name] - derived from palm tree describing pilgrims who brought back palms from the Holy land

I’ve always likes the name Jarrah witch is occasionally used in Australia. It’s a type of eucalyptus tree.

[name]Rowan[/name], [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Laurel[/name].

I love the names [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Willow[/name], and [name]Bay[/name] itself. There is also [name]Sylvana[/name] which means “of the wood” - although I love that meaning, I am not so keen on the actual name. But [name]Sylvia[/name] is similar, and I think [name]Sylvia[/name] could be seen in a fresh light nowadays - it has been out of use for such a long time.

I also love trees and work in a library, and there are some wonderful books about trees out there!

Let us know.
