Trevor?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m just looking for some thoughts and opinions on the name [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]. From what I’ve found it seems that it is considered quite dated in the UK but I am in the US so I’m wondering how it is perceived here.

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you picture a [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it ages well?
Would it fit well with a brother named [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]?

I don’t love it yet but I could see it growing on me.

[name_f]TIA[/name_f]!

When ever I hear [name_m]Trevor[/name_m], I think of [name_m]Neville[/name_m]'s toad from the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] books. I live in the US, and if I saw the name [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] I think I would assume the person was a middle aged accountant. Respectable, but not very interesting.

[name_m]Nolan[/name_m] seems to have a very different feel. [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] feels like it’s old enough to be new again. It feels very intelligent, and creative. I love the second name in your signature. I feel like [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] seem very well paired!

I know a bright 30 year old named [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]. He is kind and smart, and humble to boot. He is what I think of. Good association for me.

It feels dated to me as well.

I’ve actually never met a [name_m]Trevor[/name_m], so I don’t associate it with any age group. I can see it going with [name_m]Nolan[/name_m].

My dad is [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]. I love him very much, and I tried so hard to like his name to consider it as an honour name for a son… but I just don’t. Not in the middle spot, not at all. I ended up deciding I liked a variant on his middle name that now sits on my list for future children in pride of place. I’m sorry this is negative, but at least you know it’s a considered view rather than the first time I’m thinking about the name.

I like [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and I think he is a good brother for [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]. The adult [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] that I know has a good sense of humor, artistic, well rounded. I think [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] is good name for all ages.

I only knew one [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] growing up. I really like the name- being one of those well known but lighty used names makes it a plus in my book. R ending is also in trend and I think it goes great with [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] as well. If it matters I live in the US and the [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] I knew would be around age 26 now.

[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] is to me, and always will be, the toad in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]

My first thought was [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] the toad from [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], as well.

[name_u]Truth[/name_u] be told, it isn’t my favorite name, but I do like it. I know several boys and men by this name, ranging from newborn to mid-twenties. It seems like a “young” name, to me, but I can definitely see its potential. I picture a [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] as a smiling little boy who loves the outdoors, a kind-hearted teenager who loves dirt bikes, and a successful adult who works a 9-5.

I think [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] would work very well together as brother names!

[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] is a wonderful name. It isn’t heard around many areas. [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] to me sounds like an all around guy with a great sensitivity, intelligence and athletic.

When I hear [name_m]Trevor[/name_m], I think of the crazy character on GTA 5. But I still think it is a good name and sounds good with [name_m]Nolan[/name_m].

[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] is one of my favorite boy names. I have a cousin named [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and I grew up watching ‘All My Children’ and there was a [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] on that show. So I have always liked it. It’s a strong name without being overly bold if that makes sense. I think [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] and [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] would go excellent together.

Thank you all for the feedback on [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]. Funny how so many of us immediately think of [name_m]Neville[/name_m]'s toad haha. I’ll admit it’s probably the only association I have with this name but it doesn’t bother me much :stuck_out_tongue: it’s still growing on me but both myself and SO are convinced that it would go nicely with [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] and we both like that it is familiar but not heard all the time. Only time will tell if we would ever end up using it!

The [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] I know is really tall, dark and funny. He goes by [name_m]Trev[/name_m]…I like it.

Depending on where you’re from, your son might sound like a parent or teacher. I (from Midwest USA) don’t know any kids named [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] who were born after 2000.

Well, I’ve actually avoided going on a date with a [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] just because I find the name so childish sounding. I have similar problems with the names [name_u]Tyler[/name_u], [name_m]Jason[/name_m] and [name_m]Justin[/name_m].

I love the name [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. With [name_m]Grant[/name_m] I’d probably use [name_u]Niall[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] or [name_m]Colm[/name_m].
