Triss as Beatrice?

I am writing a book where I have a main character who I definitely want to be named Triss. Triss should be a nickname, and I was thinking her full name could be [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Blaise[/name_u], but I’m not sure if Triss could be a nickname for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], and I’d also like other name suggestions that could be nicknamed Triss.

It’s already been done by the Divergent series (the MC is a [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn [name_u]Tris[/name_u]). It’s not like that particular name/nn combo is copyrighted to the author of that book series, but it was explosively popular recently, and is still fresh on a lot of people’s minds. It would probably be too conspicuous for a lot of people, like using the name [name_f]Bella[/name_f] in a vampire novel.

Ultimately, if you plot is different enough from Divergent, I think it could work, but if it’s anything close to a dystopia, I’d avoid it altogether.

I’m drawing a blank on other names that could have Triss as a believable nickname, but I did manage to stumble across Trissa, which I thought was pretty.

Thank you! It’s not a dystopia, but I think I might use Trissa!

I feel like anything with a “trice” sound could work as well as [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about

I also really think Trissa could work.

Like sansavesper said, Beactrice nn Triss is the main character of the Divergent series and where people’s mind probably go when they hear it (mine included). Perhaps you could use a different full name like:

Thank you so much!

Trissa is beautiful! [name_f]Trista[/name_f] would also be an option. I support the suggestion of [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] too, love that name for a girl!
I also immediately thought of Divergent when you mentioned [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn Triss. That doesn’t mean you cannot use it, it just means that may be a lot of people’s first thought.

Ooh, I love [name_f]Trista[/name_f], and [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] is really fun for a girl. I won’t do [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] if everyone will think of Divergent. Thanks for the help!
