Ttc here, and Trying to decide which girls name I like more. Between [name_f]Mayla[/name_f] and [name_f]Maelie[/name_f].
I love the names [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and [name_f]Kayla[/name_f] but they’re very popular right now. And now I’m crushing on [name_f]Mayla[/name_f]. It would be a little nod to my mom born in [name_f]May[/name_f].
But then I came across [name_f]Maelie[/name_f]. Which is equally cute [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. And the [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sound could be in honor of hubby’s late mom. It was her middle name. Or would MayLee be better? Believe it or not both names have been in use for a very long time. I did a search on familysearch.
Opinions welcome”.
Note: with Adeleine as a middle to honor my grandmother Addie.
I think [name_f]Maelie[/name_f] looks more legitimate, [name_f]Mayla[/name_f] has a more trendy look, even though it has history as a name. Plus, I like the sound of [name_f]Maelie[/name_f]!
I prefer [name_f]Maelie[/name_f] which seems to be more convected to your family. I also like the sound and spelling. Agree with a previous poster that [name_f]Mayla[/name_f] looks a bit trendy and could get lost among all those [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Kayla[/name_f], [name_f]Tayla[/name_f] names.
I also think [name_f]Maelie[/name_f] is adorable! If [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and [name_f]Kayla[/name_f] are too trendy, maybe [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] or [name_f]Kyla[/name_f]?
Another vote for [name_f]Maelie[/name_f] here! It’s so cute and I’ve never heard it before. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it and the “[name_f]Maelie[/name_f]” spelling =]
It even sounds a bit better than [name_f]Mayla[/name_f] (which is also adorable btw) with Adeleine. With [name_f]Mayla[/name_f] Adeleine the A’s might run together.
