We don’t find out the gender until Feb 5, but I am convinced it’s a boy haha!
We are struggling to agree. I am not a fan of using honour names intentionally, because as what I thought would happen, it’s limiting our choice. My husband is not backing down on using [name_m]Colin[/name_m] as a middle name as it was his grandfather’s name, and whilst I agreed to it, I’m now realising it doesn’t go with anything we love He thinks it doesn’t have to flow, but… ugh!
The only one I REALLY like (but maybe not love) is [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. My husband likes [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], but I’m not sold on that name.
So, I need some help! What are some names that flow with [name_m]Colin[/name_m]? (I’ve tried suggesting [name_m]Cole[/name_m], as his grandfather was only really ever called Col, but nope). The only thing he’s kind of compromised on is that he doesn’t mind if it’s a double middle name with [name_m]Colin[/name_m] at the end, so that’s also an option I may be able to get around haha!
Possible hyphenated middles:
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m] ([name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m] sounds pretty nice to me! Also nice with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], etc.)
[name_u]James[/name_u]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m] (has a nice ring with [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Philip[/name_m], etc.)
[name_m]David[/name_m]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_u]Brice[/name_u] or [name_u]Bryce[/name_u]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_u]Dale[/name_u]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_m]Troy[/name_m]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_u]Bo[/name_u] or [name_u]Beau[/name_u]-[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]-[name_m]Scott[/name_m]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]-[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]-[name_m]Ross[/name_m]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]-[name_u]Wade[/name_u]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]-[name_m]Ferris[/name_m]
If you can’t find any names you love with [name_m]Colin[/name_m], why don’t you use [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] instead? [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is a diminutive of [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m].
I also don’t mind [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Colin[/name_m], but if you don’t really love [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] and also think it does not flow well, you should definitely consider other names
I like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Colin[/name_m]! You could use [name_u]Kit[/name_u] or [name_m]Cole[/name_m] as a nn.
There’s too much “K” sound for me in [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_m]Colin[/name_m]. But it isn’t bad by any stretch, esp if you like [name_u]Beck[/name_u]/ Becks as a nn.
I’m sure if you searched for British (or British-Euro)/Gaelic/Irish names, at least a few would flow nicely to [name_m]Colin[/name_m]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] a Welsh name!
Middle names are rarely used once the birth announcements have been sent, except for completing formal documents, so all this talk of names needing to flow is over-exaggerated, I think! If you find the name you both love for his first name, and go with an honor name for the middle, it’s a win-win! [name_m]Say[/name_m] the name aloud, like you’re calling him to breakfast…without the middle name because, really, who does that? I happen to love [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_m]Colin[/name_m], but the chances of you calling him by his entire name more than a handful of times is slim to none, so I say go for it and name him the name you love without worrying so about how it flows with his middle name! Best of luck!
