Trying to find middle name

We are having a girl and would like to find a middle name that honors my father who passed away. His name was thomas. We cant think of an equivalent name for a girl except for tamsin. [name]Tamsin[/name] would be great but sounds funny with our last name. Any other ideas that could help? Thanks in advance!

[name]One[/name] of my very favorite names is [name]Thomasina[/name]. It’s so pretty!

I think [name]Thoma[/name] and [name]Tomi[/name] would be very cute as mn’s even though they are a more masculine name they would work.

I absolutely adore [name]Thomasin[/name] and [name]Thomasina[/name]. Perfect middle names (you’d have to be brave to put them up front).

Nothing wrong with [name]Tamsin[/name], but I much prefer the above, and they ring truer to [name]Thomas[/name] for obvious reasons.

I loooove [name]Thomasin[/name]. I think it is gorgeous. I think it is emelis I learned it from, actually. I really like it. [name]Thomasina[/name] is nice too - I like Victorian-era feminizations.

This may be a little out there, but what about [name]Artemis[/name]? It almost sounds like “Our [name]Thomas[/name]”.

Great. Tks for the feedback. Stripedsocks in reading: what would make it classify as a victorian feminization? Os ot that the vicorians feminized many male names? Was that a trend in those times? Tks.

Yes it was a rather old-fashioned thing where instead of, as today, just announcing “well I like it on a girl, so I’m putting it on a girl!” (for example) they would attach feminine suffixes. Lead to [name]Thomasina[/name], [name]Benjamina[/name], [name]Jacobina[/name], etc.

Some of them are more appealing than others but since I like antiques and old-fashioned things I find some of them rather beautiful and underused today.

If there isn’t a feminine form of [name]Thomas[/name] you like, what about using your maiden name (assuming it’s the same as your father’s surname)?
