I prefer [name]India[/name] to [name]Luna[/name], it just sounds better coming off the tounge…
I really like [name]India[/name] [name]Elodie[/name]! Congrats!
I’d recommend not using a word for either name. [name]Luna[/name] isn’t technically an English word, but it’s very widely known to mean “moon” and it’s so similar to words like Lunar that it seems like a synonym for moon. I do love the name, though. [name]India[/name] is, of course, a word/country.
I don’t really care for [name]India[/name], and I think the reason behind it is really complicated. For the longest time, I had a terribly visceral reaction to it- I hated it but didn’t know why. Thinking about it, I think it may be because it essentially arose as a name because of colonization. It became widely-used as a name in [name]Britain[/name] around the time of the “British [name]Raj[/name],” or rule in [name]India[/name]. A theory I have is that the name caught on as a place that was exotic in that time, a place that was being “civilized.” Those associations are really, really bad ones for me. I may be being crazy and reading way too much into it, but I think a genuinely [name]Indian[/name] name with a similar sound, like [name]Indira[/name], would be preferable.
So clearly, I prefer [name]Luna[/name]. I like [name]Luna[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] a lot, and if I had to pick from your combos, I think I like [name]Luna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] best. Some other suggestions:
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Maria[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Noemi/name
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Sabine[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Chiara[/name]
I really like [name]Luna[/name] - not huge on [name]India[/name]. [name]Luna[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Luna[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Luna[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] all come to mind.
I love [name]Luna[/name] [name]Rose[/name]! I am a really big “[name]Rose[/name]” fan lately (granted, I have been watching a lot of [name]Golden[/name] Girls…) I know some people complain that it’s one of the “filler” middle names, but I don’t think so. It’s beautiful and meaningful! [name]Luna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is lovely - definitely my favorite of all the options
I think they’re both lovely! It’s too difficult for me to choose. But I wouldn’t let rampant political correctness put you off [name]India[/name].
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is probably my favourite [name]Luna[/name] combo and I definitely prefer [name]India[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] to [name]India[/name] [name]Aurla[/name], but I actually think [name]India[/name] needs a middle that isn’t 3 syllables and doesn’t end in -a, like:
I don’t like [name]Luna[/name] at all. It sounds like “loony” to me :(. [name]India[/name] is beautiful though!!! I think [name]India[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] would be very cute Good [name]Luck[/name]
Thanks everyone! I’m a little scared that people will go with the whole “Loony [name]Luna[/name]” thing or that [name]India[/name] is a bit pretentious, but I do love [name]Indira[/name] [name]Indra[/name]/[name]Indre[/name] is nice too I think! I’m still struggling between the two. Although I’m really considering changing [name]India[/name] to [name]Indra[/name]. I love the description: “In the ancient Hindu religion, [name]Indra[/name] is the warrior god of sky and rain, though in modern [name]America[/name], this might make a better girls’ than boys’ name. You can spell it [name]Indre[/name], like the French river, if you prefer.” I like the nickname [name]Indie[/name] too, whereas the nickname “[name]Lu[/name]” for [name]Luna[/name] is my boyfriend ex-girlfriend who is totally weird and I hate her. Lots of pros and cons being thrown around here!
