Thanks @megmarie! I feel very hopeful!
@roseymaam, I know this is a sensitive subject and how awful it can be to get unwanted advice. But I am gonna risk it because I feel like it’s important for me to say: trying naturally is awesome, of course. But at 38 if you have been told you might have PCOS, you should really be screened for it. In my case, my doc told me there was no point whatsoever in “giving it some time” naturally because I was not ovulating. It would have been a waste of time for me.
If you are charting and know you ovulate, ignore me. But if you don’t, I urge you to see a gyno and get assessed. If you were 28 it would be different but you will already be considered at advanced maternal age.
I also strongly recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by [name]Toni[/name] Weschler. I learned so much I didn’t even know I didn’t know.
I have a friend who just had her first child at 39. Textbook pregnancy, perfect baby. It happens many times a day, every day. But time is a factor. I would just hate to see you waste time when you could be getting much needed help.
I hope you haven’t taken any offense. I wish you - all of you - all the best, lots of baby dust and a fertile, fecund, frolicsome 2013!
