I recently started using the easy@home ones too and Iāve been really happy with them so far. I donāt have any tips really, other than checking the instructions which give some good advice about when to test during the day (avoiding FMU mainly) and, from memory, not drinking too much in the couple of hours before you test so it doesnāt dilute your results.
You might have it already, but I recommend the Premom app for uploading photos of your OPKs and tracking the results. The app is specifically optimised for the easy@home strips.
I used easy@home this cycle for the first time since our last pregnancy. I second @minxtruck regarding Premom. Iāve never used it before and am not one for apps but I loved it. Very satisfying seeing the percentages calculated, the graphs and calendar. I love the visuals. I bought a large set and tested frequently. Definitely saw a correlation with increased fluids and lighter lines/ %.
Now I am in the 2 week wait. Really trying not to get my hopes up. Everything lined up perfectly for conception but I am aware that even with that it doesnāt always equal a pregnancy⦠but I really want it to this month as does my husband.
Popping in because OPKs are mentioned and I got very good at using them to conceive due to my circumstances
Itās a pain in the neck, especially if youāre working, but for on cycle, take OPKs twice a day from a few days after your period ends for as long into the cycle as you can stand peeing in cups. I think my ādata collectionā cycle I did CD 8-17 (I have 28 day cycles).
The morning test should be your second urine of the day and your evening test should be a couple urines prior to going to sleep.
The next cycle, you still want to use them twice a day, but you donāt have to do it for so many days. For example, if your peak OPK was on CD 14, the next month you can test from CD 11-16 or so.
I also recommend the premom app. [name_m]Just[/name_m] remember that sometimes it doesnāt read the lines quite right, so you can manually adjust the āscore.ā I can share screenshots on how to do that, if anyone needs it.
Iām undecided if I want to use OPKs this month or just vibe it out so to speak. After my chemical, I seem to change my mind each day about ttc. One day I just want to be pregnant again right now, and then Iām too anxious about having another loss, especially since it only just happened
Crossing my fingers for those of you in your tww!!
@Elle1 How to adjust the score would be really helpful if you have time to share! How do you make sure youāre putting in the right data if youāre adjusting it yourself? (sorry, Iām completely new to this!)
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I used to be super active here but havenāt really been on much since I had my last baby⦠But weāre back to TTC and I thought Iād pop in⦠The site seems to have changed quite a bit over the last 2.5 years, hopefully Iām doing this right. I think I see a few familiar user names, Iāll have to read back over this thread and catch up with where people are at!
We have two kids and this will likely be our last. Iām a little apprehensive about it, because two is manageable for me and weāll be outnumbered with another, but Iām pretty sure this is what we want. I had similar feelings when we were going from 1 to 2, and when we were having our first actually⦠I think I just have a hard time wrapping my brain around change until it happens, but itāll be ok.
Anyway⦠I donāt think Iām anxious enough about getting pregnant to start tracking yet (for my last two Iāve temped/tracked religiously), so Iāll probably just be NTNP/TTW for the next few months⦠maybe if weāre not pregnant in December/January Iāll worry about it more.
I happened to figure out that you could adjust the reading of the OPKs on PreMom and I agree it was helpful. Most the time I found the reading pretty accurate but sometimes lighting etc wasnāt quite right.
On the app swipe the photo of the scanned test left, tap the pencil/ edit button. From there it is pretty easy you just shift the lines to match your test and it recalculates the percentage.
[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] back @shalexis ! I remember seeing you around the forums
Iām in my TWW now - Iāll probably test on [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] which will be 10 days post ovulation. I should probably wait longer but Iām (obviously) not very patient haha.
And below are screenshots on how to adjust the score! Once you get the hang of your own tests, youāll feel more confident about where you are in your fertility window!
Instructions
A. Swipe left on the test you think needs adjusting
C. Toggle the T and C until it aligns with the line color. T or test line is on the left of your test. C or control line is on the right of your test. Make sure you take the test pictures the same way every time.
BD on CD16, but I think OD was earlier this month so probably missed our chance by a good 24hrs this cycle. Maybe next time our timing will be a bit better.
Kind of just looking for reassurance, and I know it sounds silly and itās still early yet, but itās been 3-4 months and still havenāt had anything happen yet and my cycles are still sorting themselves out from [name_u]June[/name_u]. I guess I just feel very discouraged?
It took my parents years to have me, so Iām scared I might be facing the same
I think taking up to 6-12 months to conceive is considered quite normal? Iāve been listening to lots of birth story podcasts and women who got pregnant within 6 months often refer to themselves āgetting pregnant quicklyā.
Iām sure it must be discouraging, once youāve made the decision to TTC, to see cycle after cycle pass without a BFP - I know I would/will be the same! But 3-4 months is still early days and I would certainly try not to jump ahead just yet and worry that it will take years. You can only take each day as it comes and then seek help if you have been trying for 12 months without any luck.
I canāt remember if you said previously, but are you doing temps/using OPKs to help you with timings for DTD?
