Ttc 2026

[name_f][/name_f]

Totally agree [name_f][/name_f]- my father is a doctor and has said the same. Personally I’m most interested in just feeling well in myself during the process, as someone prone to winter depression and vitamin deficiencies, because that strung-out, foggy fatigue when things are out of balance is no way to live (and also definitely doesn’t encourage certain activities necessary for conception!).

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]So[/name_f] sorry you’ve had a difficult time. Hoping for this for you too :heart_hands:t2:

Hey. It’s great that you want to improve some things you feel would be good for your overall health and a loss like that takes as long as it needs to to process.

[name_f][/name_f]

But your doctor is right. It’s not[name_f][/name_f] your fault. And it’s just as unhealthy to obsess over every detail to try and control the outcome. I would encourage you to develop healthy coping techniques for stress and anxiety NOW because those feels won’t magically go away if/when you pass 6 weeks. Additionally, you may have pregnancy cravings that are “unhealthy” but you need to eat whatever goes down. (Mine was chicken, biscuits, and sweet tea).

[name_f][/name_f]

I’m so sorry grief has touched your life this way. I hope 2026 works out better for you.

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I appreciate this being a space that I can openly tell all of you what’s going on, as I haven’t told any of my family or friends. I’ve decided I’d like to just keep it private to them.
[name_f][/name_f]I’ve had my time to process everything and reflected alot on what my doctor had to say, that it wasn’t my fault.

[name_f][/name_f]

Moving forward all of this has really just shown us how much we wanted a baby. We’re excited and nerves, but we’re hoping for the best this time around. I originally wanted to start trying again in [name_f]February[/name_f], but my app shows I won’t be ovulating until the last week of February/ first week [name_m]March[/name_m]. At least that’ll give us more time to prepare and process everything.

Does anyone have any experience tapering medication in preparation to conceive? I just booked a preconception appointment with my doctor to go over that in detail, but wondering what other women’s experiences are with this process? Without dumping too much health info on y’all, I’m on 2 meds at a relatively low dose that help me manage a couple chronic conditions but are not considered the best to be taking during pregnancy (low-risk, but not no-risk). [name_f]My[/name_f] preference would be to be off of them entirely by the time I get pregnant, but obviously I need to consider what will allow me to be at my best for the baby as well. I also want to breastfeed if possible, so I may have to be off of them for a couple years if I go that route… I’m a bit anxious about it, to be honest.

Depends on what the medication is for. I have been on sertraline since I was 11 years old and going off that medication is a pain and has to go slowly, no cold turkey. [name_f]My[/name_f] other medications that I was taking when I became pregnant in 2020, I was able to go cold turkey, with, fortunately, very few side effects. [name_f]My[/name_f] attention span took a hit, haha [name_f][/name_f] but that’s about it. I have not gone back on those meds because I didn’t think the medications benefits outweighed the side effects.

[name_f][/name_f]

Eventually I’d like to get off of sertraline too, it does have a mild risk of premature lungs in the baby, something I saw first hand when my daughter was born. Don’t be too anxious if that’s the medication you are on! [name_m]The[/name_m] premature lung issue was exacerbated by my cholestasis (which meant she had to be born early) and the tendency to pass their meconium (first poo) before they are born. That meant my 36 week baby girl swallowed some meconium into her lungs and did not breathe for her first 6 minutes. [name_f]She[/name_f] was awake and not blue, but she was trying to cry but couldn’t. All is well and her SATs never dropped to the danger range. [name_m]No[/name_m] lasting damage and I have a beautiful, strong, happy, 4 year old.

[name_f][/name_f]

Sorry if that’s confusing or not the advice you were looking for. Don’t stress super hard about it. I thought I had caused my first miscarriage at 10 weeks because I didn’t get off of my meds before I got pregnant, then my 3rd and 4th pregnancy, after I had been long off of those meds ended even earlier than my first miscarriage.

Joining the thread as we didn’t get the chance to try this cycle and next cycle won’t be until after the [name_m]New[/name_m] Year.

[name_f][/name_f]

We have a 13 month old daughter and the early months postpartum with her were ROUGH… but she’s at such a great age right now and life is going splendidly. We were on the one & done train but recent health issues (fibroids & endo diagnosis) made it apparent that a hysterectomy is in my future and we’d regret not trying for another. If we’re lucky enough for another baby we’ll be delighted and if we don’t get lucky we’ll at least be glad we tried.

[name_f][/name_f]

Hysterectomy is scheduled for the beginning of [name_f]July[/name_f], so we’ll be TTC until then. Fingers crossed for a sticky baby.

It depends on what med it is, my suggestion would be to talk to your doctor (whichever specialist you’re seeing for the condition) about ttc plan.

[name_f][/name_f]

Last year I wanted to book a preconception appt but the schedule was like 3.5 months in advance. Got pregnant during the wait so I never actually went. I was on thyroid med and after I found out I got pregnant I told my endo before any family members (except my husband, ofc). Switched me to different med right away for the rest of 1st trimester.

[name_f][/name_f]

@hvnewton[name_f][/name_f] oh hi there, I remember you! I’m sorry to hear about hysterectomy plan. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] life is going great with your little girl, best of luck for round #2[name_f][/name_f]!

[name_m]No[/name_m] this is exactly what I was looking for and I really appreciate it!! [name_f]My[/name_f] meds are in a similar camp to sertraline in terms of risk profile so it was great to read your perspective. That sounds so scary about your daughter by the way, wow. I’m glad she’s thriving :heart_suit:[name_f][/name_f] Really it’s just nice to see how other people have handled this type of thing because med juggling can be a lonely place to be at times. Adding another little life into the mix is a massive responsibility.

This is kind of what I’m envisioning for the appointment, though I’ve had very bad luck with doctors where I live - I moved provinces for school and it took 1.5 years to get in with a GP, who ended up being very dismissive and borderline incompetent :frowning: Would not trust her with my health again or my baby’s ever. Specialists are iffy here too and often don’t care to follow up with you after they’ve diagnosed you if you’re functional, which I am. The doctor I’m seeing in January is one I have access to as a student at my university and she is absolutely wonderful and thorough. So I’ve got my fingers crossed to create a solid plan through this appointment and get appropriate follow-up as well! We shall see.

It looks like in the only one from the 2025 without a positive so I’ll just start my [name_f]December[/name_f] update here.

[name_f][/name_f]

I’m CD 18 currently and pretty sure I ovulated [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] making me around 4DPO. [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_f]Monday[/name_f] I had some strong cramping and I had some cramping and even discomfort in my c-section scar this morning which I can’t say I’ve ever felt before but I’m not trying to get my hopes up.

[name_f][/name_f]

I won’t be testing until after [name_f]Christmas[/name_f] though.

I’m in the TWW for December too :slightly_smiling_face: Pretty sure our timing was really good, just didn’t feel great about the window itself. Only had a day or two of hopeful-looking fertile fluid, and I felt headachy and kinda blah (I think because my back was a bit messed up. May need to book a chiropractic appt soon.)

Anyway, if it didn’t stick this month we’re on to 2026!

It looks like I’ll be taking up residence in this thread with you all. I’m not sure exactly what that timeline looks like, but I’m sure we will not wait long to try again though, we simply aren’t young enough to put it off.

UPDATE!

[name_f][/name_f]

Our egg retrieval went well, they retrieved 24 eggs, 15 of those were matured and 11 of them fertilized. We got four 5-day blastocysts[name_f][/name_f], then six 6-day blastocysts[name_f][/name_f] and ended up with eight 7-day blastocysts![name_f][/name_f] We’re getting them PGT-A tested, so those results should com back within 2-3 weeks (could be longer because of the holidays) and then we’re looking at a [name_f]February[/name_f] transfer. Praying we’re blessed with a little one by next [name_f]Christmas[/name_f]! :folded_hands:

Hey I’m [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] and may possibly start ttc #4[name_f][/name_f] in the fall. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I live in [name_m]Ontario[/name_m] [name_f]Canada[/name_f] with our two boys [name_m]Noah[/name_m] is 8 and [name_m]Everett[/name_m] is 5. We lost our daughter [name_f]Delaney[/name_f] 2.5 years ago at 10 months from group B strep complicated by her congenital heart defect. [name_f][/name_f] We are scared but I’m excited to grow out family as I always wanted 4

[name_m]Welcome[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

Well my temperature dropped back down to baseline this morning, right on time to start another cycle, so it looks like we’re almost certainly out for this month and on to the [name_m]New[/name_m] Year!

Another Update!

[name_f][/name_f]

We were told of the 8 blastocysts, 2 are euploid embryos. One is a [name_m]Day[/name_m] 5 [name_f]Girl[/name_f] and graded the highest, the other a [name_m]Day[/name_m] 7 [name_m]Boy[/name_m] graded a little lower.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] wife’s wanted a girl this whole time and I’ve wanted a boy. I’m feeling kinda disheartened by this news, I thought we’d have more than 2 for sure. Is this feeling normal?

Hello all! We’re looking at ttc beginning sometime in the spring. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is now 2 and the timing seems right…. except for the fact that we’re still in the process of finding more permanent housing (it’s a long story). [name_f]So[/name_f] spring is if all goes well there. Fingers crossed!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a little update, I’m still waiting to officially miscarry, there’s been a lot of hoops to jump through to get the meds I need and my hcg level is still so high that my body won’t do it itself any time soon… I’m hoping [name_f]Monday[/name_f] I’ll get the prescriptions I need and hopefully leave this experience behind me in 2025. I expect it’ll be at least [name_f]February[/name_f] before we are able to try again unfortunately if everything goes smoothly.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] doctor wants to test to see if there’s any DNA issues in the tissue, this will be the first time they actually do any testing of this in 4 losses, part of me is worried it will reveal problems. I’ve been wondering if our sweet baby girl is a bigger miracle than we’ve realized, and while trying to stay positive, I am also preparing myself for the thought that she could be our only child.

Y’all it’s really hard not to be TTC this month for me. [name_f]So[/name_f] many announcements and, now that my son is older (and took his first steps a couple days before Christmas!), baby fever is starting to creep back into the crevices of my mind.

[name_f][/name_f]

Send help lol
