Twin brother for Felix

I see the sibling forum, but this one seems more active so I’ll post here.

Greetings to all the fellow name lovers out there. I am Fenley, and I’m having a rough time naming our second son. Due in late [name]October[/name] with twin boys, who, we know one will be named [name]Felix[/name]. Now, naming the second boy is mind blowingly hard. Nothing feels like the one and none are catching our attentioned like [name]Felix[/name] did.

Here are the 7 names we keep coming back to.

[name]Henry[/name]: Our #1 name at the moment. I think it sounds fantastic with brother [name]Felix[/name]. Popularity isn’t an issue for us. However, I do fear that [name]Henry[/name] is too mainstream to be [name]Felix[/name]'s brother. On the other hand… I kinda dig the contrast in popularity.

[name]Milo[/name]: The problem is quite obvious. [name]Both[/name] [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] are common names for cats. Now, I can deal with people informing me that my child has a cat name, I don’t know if I can handle two obvious cat names in a sibset. I do feel like [name]Milo[/name] would be the one if it wasn’t associated with a feline.

[name]Leo[/name]: [name]Leo[/name] might be viewed as a cat name too. But I don’t feel like it’s as strong of a connection as [name]Milo[/name]. I guess [name]Leo[/name] just seems forced to me, like I don’t feel like it’s right for my child.

[name]Jonah[/name]: My husbands favorite on the list. I like that it’s a biblical name. It’s a great name that I have never thought of to use on my son.

[name]Miles[/name]: Great alternative to [name]Milo[/name]. [name]Just[/name] like [name]Jonah[/name] and [name]Leo[/name], it’s just not feeling like the one to me.

[name]Vincent[/name]: I love this name sooo much. It’s so underused [name]IMO[/name]. I guess what’s stopping me is that it has a nickname (which I like too). I’m over thinking this, but [name]Felix[/name] is nickname free so I want his brother to be too.

[name]Linus[/name]: I kind of feel like since [name]Felix[/name] is a wild card, and [name]Linus[/name] is too, that it would be a really obnoxious sibset. I dig that both names are associated with cartoons, which I’m sure will be pointed out all the time.

There it is. Those are the 7 names that I cannot decide between. I’m looking for comments on them, as well as suggestions. The question is: What would you name [name]Felix[/name]'s twin brother.

[name]TIA[/name]

[name]Sebastian[/name] seems perfect w/[name]Felix[/name] (to me). All your choices are solid. Once the kids develop personalities, most other associations with their names will fall away. I wouldn’t worry so much about that issue. I’ve never heard of a cat named [name]Milo[/name] anyway (and I’m a lifelong cat person).

All of your choices are good ones, but it sounds a bit like you want to name him [name]Vincent[/name]. And [name]Felix[/name] totally has nicknames–[name]Fox[/name], Flix, [name]Fee[/name]. [name]Vincent[/name] has [name]Vince[/name], [name]Vinny[/name], V.

I like [name]Jonah[/name] best. I think [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Jonah[/name] are a great match.

I agree with you that [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] sounds AWESOME. that would be my pick. You kind of talked me out of all the others. Your reasoning is sound. Though i think [name]Vincent[/name] can easily go as [name]Vincent[/name], no nickname, at least within the family. (Funny, every name you’ve chosen aside from [name]Jonah[/name] and [name]Linus[/name] are in my top 10-15. As is [name]Sebastian[/name] mentioned above.)

Another name I like with [name]Felix[/name] is [name]Jasper[/name]. Kind of another wild card to me, like [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Linus[/name] are to you.

Picking from your list, I like [name]Henry[/name] the best and [name]Jonah[/name] would be my second choice.

my favorite twin names for [name]Felix[/name] are [name]Dexter[/name] and [name]Linus[/name] so I would have to say [name]Linus[/name].

As my cat is named [name]Milo[/name]…And then there is that movie from the 80’s called [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Otis[/name] about a dog and cat…You might want to avoid two names that remind people of cats. [name]Felix[/name] the [name]Cat[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] the cat from that movie.

Or you can totally rock the connection if that’s what works for you

I like [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Linus[/name] with [name]Felix[/name], however…

From your list I really like [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Linus[/name] or [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Miles[/name]. I like the pp’s suggestion of [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Jasper[/name] as well.

[name]Felix[/name] was my top choice if baby #3 had been a boy, and we already have a son named [name]Sebastian[/name], so I think [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] are a spectacular sibset.

I also like [name]Felix[/name] and [name]August[/name]/[name]Agustin[/name] (and variants).

If we had had twin boys with this last pregnancy we probably would have gone with [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Ignacio[/name] (letting my husband and I both pick our favorite names). So maybe [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Ignatius[/name]? Kind of cool? Maybe? Not sure!

I like [name]Milo[/name] of your choices. The cat thing doesn’t bother me - I think it’s a cool and pretty subtle connection.

I also second [name]Jasper[/name]. This seems to fit well with [name]Felix[/name] - both cool, zippy names.

What about doing [name]Miles[/name] but calling him [name]Milo[/name]? That way he could fall back on [name]Miles[/name] if he gets tired of all the cat associations?

I like [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Miles[/name] from your list. I also think [name]Oscar[/name] would make a good brother to a [name]Felix[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Henry[/name]. [name]Jonah[/name] works well too!

I think [name]Vincent[/name] is my fave. I don’t think the nickname thing is too important. I also like [name]Henry[/name]. Very cute. I would say not [name]Milo[/name] and not [name]Linus[/name] for the reasons that you mentioned. What about [name]Simon[/name]? For some reason, that pops in my head as [name]Felix[/name]'s twin. Maybe there’s an association there that I’m not cluing into. No idea. But for some reason, I always lump those two names together.

Out of your choices I like [name]Jonah[/name] the best.
I also came on here to suggest [name]Dexter[/name] with [name]Felix[/name].
Good [name]Luck[/name] deciding

[name]Jonah[/name] is my favorite!

I like [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Felix[/name]! I would also stay away from [name]Milo[/name]/[name]Leo[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] due to the cat/lion association, which is really too bad since they are great names.

I love the suggestion of [name]Jasper[/name]!

I really love [name]Henry[/name], I have been trying to convince my husband we should use it with no luck so I enjoy knowing others can have the pleasure of having a little [name]Henry[/name]. I like [name]Jasper[/name] as well with [name]Felix[/name]. [name]Hugo[/name] is great too. [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] sound perfect to me.

Wow, I love [name]Felix[/name]- and I’m slightly jealous you are having boy twins!
Keep in mind that I like names for twins that are extremely ‘matchy’ in style/length/popularity while not actually being ‘matchy’. If you don’t mind very different names for twins then you may want to ignore my opinion!

[name]Henry[/name]: I really love this name. It goes fabulously with [name]Felix[/name]. I know it would bother me a bit that one name is more popular than the other, so I would probably not use [name]Henry[/name]. Looking ahead to your list, you can’t really go wrong. All of your name choices are great- I’m just going to be picky

[name]Milo[/name]: Goes great. I have a friend [name]Milo[/name] and it gives me confidence that the name can fit a boy/man at any age! [name]Don[/name]'t pick it if you don’t want to hear the cat comments though, because you will. I personally think the connection is cute.

[name]Leo[/name]: To me this doesn’t go as great as [name]Milo[/name] or [name]Henry[/name], and I’m only so-so about it. Sounds like you feel similar.

[name]Jonah[/name]: [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Jonah[/name] are very different to me.

[name]Miles[/name]: Same as [name]Leo[/name] to me.

[name]Vincent[/name]: Great name! I would not pair it with [name]Felix[/name] as a twin. Middle name maybe?

[name]Linus[/name]: Right when I saw you were naming the one twin [name]Felix[/name] I thought “[name]Linus[/name] for the other!” , but then I realized saying “[name]Felix[/name]! [name]Linus[/name]!” out loud (like you inevitably will each day) doesn’t sound AS great I thought… Still a great name and goes well enough. I like it.

Since your husband likes [name]Jonah[/name], maybe he could also like [name]Caleb[/name]? I think [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] would be great together!
[name]Oscar[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] [name]IMO[/name] is near perfection.
[name]Calvin[/name] is another one I picture with twin [name]Felix[/name].
As you can see in my signature my two favourite boy names are [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name]. [name]Both[/name] of which would be great with [name]Felix[/name]!
[name]Caspar[/name] or [name]Jaspar[/name] would also be good.

My favourites from your list are [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Linus[/name].

Good luck!

I like [name]Milo[/name], [name]Miles[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Oscar[/name], [name]Casper[/name],

However much I love and adore [name]Henry[/name] (and I do, I really do), I, like you, think that it’s slightly more classic-common than [name]Felix[/name]. It would work perfectly in a sibset, but with twins it’s tricker because you don’t want one twin to feel left out and either think that he’s got a too mainstream name compared to his brother’s, or that he’s got too special a name compared to his brother’s. On the other hand, if you’re really passionate about [name]Henry[/name], I would say go for it. While it isn’t a classic like [name]Henry[/name], [name]Felix[/name] is not an overly, super-duper, never-heard-of-before name, and it can work.

I also like [name]Vincent[/name] a lot, [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Vincent[/name] sounds great - and you don’t have to call [name]Vincent[/name] by a nickname, it’s a beautiful name on its own.

I was gonna give you some suggestions, but all I ended up with was [name]Hugo[/name] (another nickname-free name to match [name]Felix[/name]). [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name] has a quite lovely ring to it and both names give me a cheeky, lively kind of feel. My imageries of both names are very alike.
