Twin Girls! Help needed!

[name]Just[/name] found out that the pair of twins I’m carrying are girls and need help naming them. I want names that sound the same in English and Spanish. We’re both Hispanic, although DH was born and raised here in the US where we currently live. Since they are going to be raised here, I don’t want them going through what their father went (and still goes) through, he has to constantly spell his name and most of the people (pretty much whoever’s not Hispanic) don’t know how to pronounce it. At the same time, I dont’ want my side of the family (who don’t speak English) going through the same problem with English names…

We were thinking names like: [name]Emma[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Melanie[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], ect. that they sound the same in English and Spanish but we can’t come up with cute name/middle name combos that at the same time will sound good with each other. I’m really against matchy-matchy names (when theys sound almost the same), I just want the names to go well together.

I appreciate your help and thank you in advance!

[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name] is my favorite pairing from your list. I think they sound very sweet together but definitely not matchy.

[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Bella[/name] and [name]Mia[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] and [name]Isabelle[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Maya[/name]
[name]Lola[/name] and [name]Rosa[/name]

[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name] are my favorites!

Thank you so much!!

We kinda wanted a name and a middle name for both…I too like [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name], perhaps [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]??

I still need another one and will like to use [name]Isabelle[/name].

[name]Do[/name] [name]Emma[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] sound good? [name]Emma[/name] is a very popular name though…

Again thank you!!

[name]Hi[/name], L.M.!

Congrats on your twins! I am a twin!

I love [name]Anna[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], and [name]Isabel[/name] - I much prefer this spelling - from your list. I think [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] is sweet as a double name or as a first and middle combination, and I know of one [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] and one [name]Ana[/name]-[name]Sofia[/name], both of whom go by a double name. I think that [name]Isabel[/name] as a first name would compliment [name]Anna[/name] very well, so I would suggest:

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] & [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Sofia[/name] [name]Melania[/name] & [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Juliana[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Marisol[/name] and [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Nina[/name]

Good luck!

[name]Lemon[/name]

From your list, I love [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] as well as [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Isabel[/name] as sibsets.

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]

Some other combos:
[name]Julia[/name] and [name]Laura[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name] and [name]Stella[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Susana[/name]

Good luck, and congrats on your twins!

[name]Hi[/name]! I would avoid [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Anna[/name], very similar! Unless [name]Anna[/name] were to go by [name]Annie[/name]. Either way, darling names!

I like [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name], but I think they are in fact a little too matchy for twins (something you specifically said you did not want). [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] is a beautiful name!
I think the second twin should have [name]Isabella[/name] in the middle, and something to compliment [name]Anna[/name], but not too similar upfront. I love the suggestion of [name]Lucia[/name] and I think [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] [name]Isabella[/name] make a wonderful pair!

Oh my! Thanks a lot! Great suggestions!! You guys are great!

[name]Lemon[/name] – I love the name [name]Nina[/name], but a close friend of mine named her daughter [name]Nina[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]. I also prefer the Spanish spelling of [name]Isabel[/name], but DH is leaning towards [name]Isabelle[/name] and I can deal with that.

jlm - I agree with [name]Emma[/name] & [name]Anna[/name] being too matchy-matchy…my middle name is [name]Ann[/name] that’s why I would like to use [name]Anna[/name], and my DH’s initials are E.M.A. which sounds like [name]Emma[/name] (besides the fact that I love the name).

Again thanks a lot for your suggestions, I now feel like I have more than just a handful of names to choose from!

ETA – I love the name [name]Anais[/name] (like [name]Anais[/name] [name]Nin[/name] the writer) only that ppl tend to pronounce it in a way that sounds like ‘anus’ and I wouldn’t dare to change the spelling just to make it sound more like [name]Ana[/name]-ees…
