[name]Hi[/name] everyone! I’m new here and my name is [name]Aubrey[/name]. I’m a 30-year-old soon-to-be mom from [name]North[/name] [name]Carolina[/name].
So, now, for why I’m posting. I’m expecting twin girls in [name]December[/name], and I’m not sure what they will be named at all right now. My husband likes traditional names, but I’m more into slightly unusual, vintage, bohemian, glamour girl style. I’m considering [name]Matilda[/name] and/or [name]Iris[/name]. If you have any ideas, let me know!
I like [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] - great choices!
[name]Margot[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Nora[/name] and [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Willa[/name]
[name]How[/name] about [name]Holly[/name] & [name]Ivy[/name]? Okay, I know most people would say “I hope you’re joking,” but, they’re vintage, traditional, and Christmasy! And they go together without sounding exactly alike. I would be sorely tempted if I were you!
There are lots of lists and posts on here with Christmasy names, so I’m sure if you want to go that route, you can draw inspiration from them.
[name]Iris[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] are both great names and they go together well!
With [name]Christmas[/name] names, what comes to mind at first are [name]Noel[/name]/[name]Noelle[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name]/[name]Natalia[/name].
I like [name]Iris[/name] [name]Natalia[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]…those N names give them a subtle unity without overdoing it.
[name]Natalie[/name] and [name]Noelle[/name] pair well to me as first names too, if you don’t mind the shared initial - I know plenty of people do : D.
You might do searches related to gift, star, winter, snow, etc.
As well as more religious names associated with god, faith, hope, etc., if that is appropriate to you.
[name]Adah[/name] is a Biblical name with a vintag-y feel due to proximity to [name]Ada[/name]. It means ornament.
[name]Eve[/name] is a Biblical name which would be a cute reference to [name]Christmas[/name] [name]Eve[/name].
[name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] (gift and star) come to mind - both vintage-y too.
All vintage-y and relating to decorations: [name]Ivy[/name] obviously, [name]Lucy[/name] meaning light, [name]Ruby[/name] like the color red featured at [name]Christmas[/name], [name]Greta[/name] meaning pearl like strings of pearls/beads on a tree.
I know there was a poster on here considering [name]Christmas[/name] related middle names for her twins, I think that would be lovely for yours. Two of my favorite pairs were [name]Natalia[/name] & [name]Noelle[/name] and [name]Holly[/name] & [name]Snow[/name].
[name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] are lovely together. I’m not such a big fan of [name]Iris[/name], but I like it with [name]Matilda[/name]. Maybe [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]?
If you want Christmasy names, I like [name]Noelle[/name] with the nickname [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Natalia[/name] with the nickname [name]Lia[/name].
I also love what an above poster suggested about [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]. Gorgeous combo!
I think pp’s suggestion of [name]Carol[/name] could also be adjusted to [name]Caroline[/name] or [name]Carolina[/name] to make it more subtle but still allude to that : D.
It occurred to me that [name]Nicole[/name]/[name]Nicola[/name]/[name]Nicolette[/name] would work as a little allusion to [name]Santa[/name] [name]Claus[/name] (St. [name]Nicolas[/name]).
I really love all of your suggestions. Thanks for replying so fast! My husband and I both love [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Olive[/name], and [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] [name]Natalia[/name] are darling! I like [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] nn [name]Eve[/name]. We’re also considering [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Holly[/name], but not sure if [name]Holly[/name] is TOO [name]Christmas[/name]-y. And, our last name is [name]Collins[/name]. [name]Holly[/name] [name]Collins[/name]? IDK.
Ooh I do think [name]Holly[/name] is a bit much with that last name, and maybe a little too Christmasy. I do think it would work as a middle name though! [name]Caroline[/name] with that last name is also heavily alliterative, although it works to some ears I’m sure (it sounds good to mine, but yours are what matter). Although with twins you maybe don’t want one to be alliterative and the other not? So [name]Caroline[/name] might be good in the middle. Actually then [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Holly[/name] might be complimentary middles since they both have that sound overlap with the last name. [name]One[/name] option: [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Holly[/name]. Then you get [name]Holly[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name], too, but it’s not too obvious. Good luck!
I really like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], and I really like [name]Evangeline[/name] as well, although I don’t really like the sound of [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Holly[/name]. Maybe [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Grace[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Hope[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Snow[/name]…
