We are expecting twin girls next year and are looking for suggestions on names that go with our two boys’ names. They are [name_m]Charles[/name_m] (though 99% of the time he goes by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] (he usually goes by his full name, but we also sometimes call him [name_u]Mickey[/name_u]). The boys are not twins.
For the girls, we are looking for names that go well together but are not necessarily “matchy”. The boys’ names are not obvious matches, as they sound different and don’t have similar roots. For the girls, since they are twins I thought it might be nice to put a bit more thought into the joint naming decision.
Below is a list I have put together, so you get a sense of my style. Btw, my last name has three syllables.
Any combination of the following, but probably avoiding two “a” endings or two “ee” endings. For example, probably not [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], but including [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f].
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
We also like these longer names:
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] (probably too much!)
Of your pairs, I think [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] go best with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] (I love those by the way). I also love [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but the As might be a little intimidating and don’t go with your boys. I do love [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], but since your boys names are not quite so common, they don’t really go with the sibset. [name_m]Just[/name_m] go with what you love! Good luck!
With [name_m]Charles[/name_m] ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] ([name_u]Mickey[/name_u]) my favourites would be [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
I also really like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] but that might be a bit too matchy with [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u]!
What about:
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] & [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] & [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (nn’s [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] & [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]?)
Of your choices I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] the best. Congratulatioms!
I love [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!
I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] would be fabulous too.
Best of luck!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Everyone, thanks for the tips!
It’s interesting that [name_f]Olive[/name_f] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f] have been popular among you since those are the names I have added to the list most recently. They are growing on me, and I agree the others are more common than our boy names, so they fit that way (except [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is pretty common in the UK; we are not based there though). [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f] has an interesting common pattern to [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] & [name_u]Micah[/name_u], and I don’t think it would stretch the matchiness too far. I like the softer sounds of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is a cool suggestion, and could go nicely with [name_f]Olive[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], and either of them with [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. I’m not sure if I could get my wife to agree on those though. What do you think of the nn [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]?
Of the names you listed originally, I would like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_f]Mia[/name_f] & [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] together. My favorite though is [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f], or maybe [name_f]Margot[/name_f] with something else… [name_f]Margot[/name_f] & [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]?
Some other names you might like: [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]…
I would go with [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] with your boys. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u] are a little close for my liking. And [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], although they aren’t super-matchy, also might be too matchy for my taste. You have some great choices to choose from, though. Keep us posted!
Well I just love [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and I think it would sound beautiful with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_u]Micah[/name_u] and sister [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. (not fond of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] as it reminds me of the fruit/food.)
I also loved the suggestion of [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] the subtle ‘o’ connection is lovely and ‘o’ names are very on trend now, not tryndy.
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is a gorgeous name.
And [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is beautiful too combo [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
or
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
All the best and please put the notice of their births in our Birth Announcement section.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are lovely. Not a fan of [name_f]Margot[/name_f] sorry. Probably the only one on your list I don’t like! A friend I mine also has a [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and I think those 2 sound great. Go well with the boys names but just realised there’s two cs and two Ms so maybe as a foursome a tiny bit matchy!
I also really like “[name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]” =)
I think the nn lemon for clementine is adorable.
some more suggestions…
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Holly[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarice[/name_f] and [name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] And [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! Of the names you have right now, [name_f]Margo[/name_f] is my favourite (I prefer it without the extra t). The combo [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] has a much different feel than the other names on your list. They seem vintage chic, while the others are more mainstream cute. I would encourage you to be creative and not to be afraid to use something different!
My suggestions:
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
Some combos:
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
^I think any of these names sound good together really!
Lola, Freya and Thea are also a super sweet names with your boys.
I like all your names but personally I would choose all different first initials but that is just me.
