Twins Boys: Teo and

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
I am British, living in Spain and need some help!

Twin 1 is sorted: [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] shortened often to [name_m]Teo[/name_m]. It means “gift from God”
Middle name not so sorted but maybe [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m].

It’s twin 2 we are struggling with! We loved [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and really liked how it was classic and long like [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] but could be shortened to [name_m]Sol[/name_m]. It also had a great meaning “man of peace”. The problem is that in Spain [name_m]Sol[/name_m] is a girl’s name.

It’s such a shame because I think [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Sol[/name_m] go great together! Not too same-y but similar in some ways…

Other ideas we’ve had:

[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Othello[/name_m] ([name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Otto[/name_m]) but DH isn’t so keen
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] ([name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_u]Alex[/name_u]) but I’m not sure
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m] ([name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Manu[/name_m])
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] ([name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Beni[/name_m])
(These all have great meanings)

Or focusing more on a name that goes with [name_m]Teo[/name_m] like:

[name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Axel[/name_m]
[name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Jairo[/name_m]

The problem is although we like them all, we want to [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] twin 2’s name as much as twin 1’s and I’m not sure we’ve found it yet… Suggestions most welcome!!!

I love [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m], [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Axel[/name_m] and [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Jairo[/name_m].

Other suggestions:
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] - The first thing that popped into my mind
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Alejandro[/name_m] - The spanish version of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], making it [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & Ale/[name_u]Alex[/name_u]/[name_m]Alec[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Armando[/name_m] - [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Manu[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] - [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] (I actually really love this one!)
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Leandro[/name_m] - My sons are [name_u]Theo[/name_u]/[name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Leo[/name_m], maybe too much for you lol
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Alfredo[/name_m] - [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] (Very cute too!)
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Ernesto[/name_m] - [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & Erne/[name_m]Ernie[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Alfonso[/name_m] - [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_u]Alfie[/name_u]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Rodrigo[/name_m] - [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & Rodri
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Leopoldo[/name_m] - Again, [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Bernardo[/name_m] - [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_u]Bernie[/name_u]

As a Spanish person I must warn you about something (not meaning to discourage you or anything, as [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] really is one of my favourite guilty pleasure names for this reason!): [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] is often associated with old people’s names such as [name_m]Antonio[/name_m]/a, [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]/a… And plenty of other beautiful names. BUT there is a comedy show here where [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] is a stupid country-side man. So maybe this name would get some negative feedback and comments at school.
But if you love it, go for it. And is [name_m]Teo[/name_m] is going to be his nickname, it’s a fresh and modern name here!

Pd: As you can see I prefer names that have sort of the same length. But you can maybe get nicknames that go really well together, like [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Axel[/name_m], from longer names (you can get [name_m]Axel[/name_m] from [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] for example)

Thanks!!..i maybe would have gone for [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] but my friend just used it… Plus [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] doesnt really have a meaning I would like to use…

Re: [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] - I was aware it was a “grandad” name but not that it’s a character in a series - which one?

Does anyone have any non-Spanish suggestions?

The series is called ‘La Que Se Avecina’. It’s quite popular. My own name is used for a crazy lady in that show and I often get laughed at for that, though it doesn’t bother me any more lol

Hmmm i thought you might say that! Bummer! I don’t watch it but I know I’m in the minority here… Hmmm

I love [name_m]Othello[/name_m] nn [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] nn [name_m]Beni[/name_m]. Very cool names!

[name_m]Andres[/name_m]
[name_m]Casimiro[/name_m]
[name_m]Donato[/name_m]
[name_m]Gustavo[/name_m]
[name_m]Josue[/name_m]
[name_m]Leandro[/name_m]
[name_f]Lucero[/name_f]
[name_m]Matias[/name_m]
[name_m]Rueben[/name_m]

Other nicknames for [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] could be [name_u]Mo[/name_u], [name_m]Moss[/name_m], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], Solo.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Teo[/name_m] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]?

I think you should reconsider [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]! It does sound super good with [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m]. I think they go really well together without sounding matchy and I love that they both share 3 o’s. I like the nn [name_m]Sol[/name_m] and it doesn’t sound too feminine to me. My sons name is Allister and we call him [name_u]Ali[/name_u] all the time. [name_u]Ali[/name_u] is mostly a girls name here in the US but it doesn’t bother me. And if he grows up and dislikes [name_u]Ali[/name_u], he can always go by Allister. Or as the pp mentioned you could always use another nn for [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. But if that’s totally off the table then perhaps you might like:

[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Santiago[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Emilio[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Cristiano[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Eduardo[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Amadeo[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m]

I believe in people using the name they love most for the new person they love most regardless of popularity with the exception of sound, obvious negative meaning or someone close with a name too similar that you are not honoring. So I think [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] is great if you both love it. Some alternatives are Solano or Solaris. Any way you look at it you get [name_m]Sol[/name_m]. Or you could go with the Biblical [name_m]Saul[/name_m]. It’s great to explore alternatives but don’t let go of the best choice for you.

I think all of your choices are great picks.

The only one I personally would change is [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] to [name_m]Alejandro[/name_m] or [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m]. ([name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Alejo[/name_m] or [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & Alesso).

I also like [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] & [name_m]Benicio[/name_m] ([name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Beni[/name_m] or [name_m]Teo[/name_m] & [name_m]Beno[/name_m])

I like [name_m]Teo[/name_m] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] together, and was going to suggest [name_m]Teo[/name_m] and [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] but someone beat me to it.

Maybe also…
[name_m]Teo[/name_m] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u]/[name_m]Judah[/name_m] (means “praised”)
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] and [name_m]Erasmus[/name_m] (nn [name_f]Razi[/name_f]? [name_m]Ras[/name_m]? [name_u]Ira[/name_u]?, means “beloved, desired”)
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Cal[/name_u], means “dove”)
