Two botanical names together - thoughts?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries

We are having a baby sister to [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]. We are down to 4 names - [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. Most likely we will choose from this list for first and second names. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are our favourite for first names.

My question is what do people think about having two botanical names in a row? Like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f],
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] etc.

Not sure if I am overthinking it!

I don’t have a problem, I think it’s sweet! I don’t care much for [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle though, I think over time it’s become a common filler middle name.

I adore [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], though I do prefer [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is surprisingly very lovely to me, given my usual opinions on [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

I love your shortlist!

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are the only two that seem maybe a little overly botanical when used together.

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] gets my vote!

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are adorable! I don’t mind the two botanical names thing at all.

I think it really depends on the names in question. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is too wordy for me personally, but [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is fine. I think because [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] feels more like a vintage beauty than a nature name to me.

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are my favourites.

I think your choices sound nice & go well with your older kids names

Such lovely names! Of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] I prefer [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (I adore [name_f]Edie[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Edith[/name_f]) and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is just gorgeous. And I don’t think the double botanical thing is an issue at all. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]/[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] are beautiful combos too!

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Olice[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are both lovely. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] especially feels so namey I don’t think it’s a big deal

Thanks everyone, I really value the input and puts my mind at ease that we are on the right track. And that we can mix and match alot of the names.

I normally wouldn’t like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle, but my daughter has “named” the baby [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but I would prefer another first name. It has made me think it could be cute to have her name in the middle. Particularly [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is lovely to me.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Your list is amazing!

I think that [name_f]Olive[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are maybe a bit much together, & I think that [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] flows much nicer anyway. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is a fruit, but I always seem to forget that. It’s more of a name to me. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are names to me too, but still are strongly associated w/the botanical imagery.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I personally love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for you!
I usually don’t mind double botanical names however [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is way too much “food words” for me. Maybe because I buy clementines all the time at the grocery store lol! [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] would work much better. Good luck

Thanks, that does help.
I think I am down to:

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]

And if we were going to go with the other names:

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]

I love botanical names.

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is so gorgeous! I like two botanical names in a row, especially since they aren’t exactly floral. I’ve seen [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] several times as a combo and I think it’s pretty but very floral. This strikes me as better matched. I would go for it!

I think it’s fine. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very overused in the middle spot though, but one of my nieces is actually [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] which are two flower names. I think because they’re established names it’s not such an issue, not like you’d be naming her [name_f]Tulip[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] or something (I just made that up, but weirdly like it!)
